Oh chops off Elnor's hand in a swordfight and Elnor screams in agony.

Oh: There is no escape. Don't make me destroy you. Elnor, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me, and I will complete your Qowat Milat training. With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the galaxy.

Elnor: I'll never join you!

Oh: If you only knew the power of the Zhat Vash. Admiral Picard never told you what happened to your mother.

Elnor: He told me enough! He told me you killed her!

Oh: No. I am your mother.

Elnor: No. No. That's not true. That's impossible!

Oh: Search your genome, you'll know it to be true!

Elnor: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
You must really love Star Wars.

tbf, Hugh is a character people care about. Agreed
People cared about Maddox and Icheb to certain degree as well. And that's the key, if you have to kill off someone, it should be someone people care about, the more history for that character, the better.

And now I'm really worried about Seven
Umm... CBS, do please announce Star Trek: Seven series asap...

Perhaps because the Borg can't assimilate a Founder?
And assimilating a Vorta Clone or Jem' Hadar would not add any new technology.

Since neither side considers the other a threat, there's no need to attack each other.

What about all the member worlds the dominion controls? It's not all just founders and vorta. There is no way the borg don't consider political entities like the dominion a threat to their galactic order.

Enterprise-D baby, I'm telling you Riker has rebuilt it and it's in active reserve like he is. He's going to show up in it to save the day!

It's now painted red and looks like a sports car thanks to Riker's mid life crises

we're on the same page re: killing off characters people care about, we're not on the same page that a majority of Trek fans cared particularly about Maddox or whatshisface. Sure, a tiny subset, but all in all I doubt they were major fan favourites

Be interesting to see a confrontation between a Borg Drone and a Changeling.
I guess there would be a lot of intermingling of Borg nanites and Silvery Fluid.
We could see our frist Borg Bucket.

In the novel'verse at least, there was changeling that had to keet shapeshifting constantly to keep the nanoprobes out.

Narissa will pay for Hugh of that I have no doubt.

I think the show runners have plans for Seven so I do think she is safe, she is the ideal candidate to take over from Hugh.

When the truth comes out the Federation and Starfleet will be lining up to kiss Picards rosy butt cheeks, the ban will be lifted and Picard will be able to ask for whatever he wants.

First on my hit list would be bloody Clancy as the Commodore will already be dead.

Truth be told when the it comes out the Federation and Starfleet are going to look like bloody idiots, I think some seriously high ranking heads are going to roll.

A lot will depend on who is responsible for the Supernova and the attack on Mars.

But you see, we're not done yet! Geordi leaps out of nowhere after Hugh dies (guess he was on the cube the whole time, who knew?) and Rizzo and Narek cut him down and then as he lies dying, realize his ocular implants are worth a fortune on the black market...

and then the wonder twins reveal themselves to be the half-Romulan kids of Leah Brahms and their convoluted plan was to kill Geordi all along

Yeah.. MCU had plans for Black Widow too. That didn't stop them though...
Potential Star Trek: Fenris Rangers could be a prequel show to Picard, and that scares me..

This is Star Trek Picard. Picard is untouchable (at-least until the series finally, anyway). Everyone else is expendable. We already have previous stars/guest stars killed off: Maddox, Icheb. Now it's going to be Hugh. And most likely he is not the last one. It's not a given that all of the Picard crew will also survive the season. For all we know La Sirena is not going to last the season either. Anything goes, and it's fantastic!
I wasn't referring to Hugh's death, specifically., but thanks for explaining the show to me.. :luvlove:

So for those who've seen this, how are the Elnor Rizzo fight scenes? Does Elnor have a go at Narek too? Does Rizzo have a laugh at killing Hugh?

We got the basic outline of the episode. The devil is in the details, so let's have some mystery left until next week ;)

I’d actually be here for “Star Trek: Fenris Rangers” staring Seven :luvlove:
I’d find it more interesting then the S31 show if I’m honest. They could make it so Georgiou overshoots her time period on her return to the 23rd century and teams up with Seven as a ranger. Love/hate relationship with a potential romance story thrown in

When the truth comes out the Federation and Starfleet will be lining up to kiss Picard.
I think given the dark tone of the show the truth won't ever come out. Picard will die knowing that everything he did made no difference, which is far more realistic and a nice contrast to Kirk's death. Elnor will, however, swear that he'll never stop fighting to ensure Picard's goals are met, to let Picard have some peace in death.

And remember, Discovery already has a dark future for the Fed written.

I was all for Section 31 and Pike series. But now that we're back in 24th century, on the brink of 25th, I don't want to do any more prequels. Full speed ahead to the future.
I meant, I'd still watch any Trek series that comes along, but I definitely would prefer that they were set in the future of Trek and not the past.
A LOT (not all, but a lot) of Discovery issues comes from the fact that it conflicts with existing lore. Hopefully producers finally realized they don't need shoot themselves in the foot by going back to the past on purpose.

One very interesting idea that I didn't see thrown about is that the Talosians, reading Pike's mind and knowing that Discovery will reappear a thousand years in the future, freeze him and Vina to be woken up at that time (and at which point a cure for their conditions will be found). Discovery pops up in the 32nd century, unfreezes and cures Pike and Vina with the futuristic medical knowledge, and Pike continues with Discovery as before.

I was skeptical but feeling a bit better, we will know soon enough. Wonder how long it was actually online.
So for those who've seen this, how are the Elnor Rizzo fight scenes? Does Elnor have a go at Narek too? Does Rizzo have a laugh at killing Hugh?

Rizzo starts by trying to shoot Elnor, then tosses aside her disruptor saying that isn't how Tal Shiar fight Qwohot Milat (yeah butchered spelling I know). Elnor has his weapon and they start to go at it for Rizzo to promptly fight dirty and throw a knife that kills Hugh. If I recall she threw one at Elnor and she tossed it back only for her to teleport before it could hit her.

Thanks!

I never understood the "throwing away the blaster" thing. Sounds like Rizzo does this for "honor" reasons which ultimately make no sense. But sounds like her plan was to kill Hugh all along!

It should just be like Raiders of the Lost Ark where Elnor's swinging his sword around and Rizzo just shoots him down.
