Dr Jurati, the twin's 'step-mother,' has offed their father in last week's episode, perhaps after her own kill-mode switch was turned on remotely by someone (at 0:05)

I rather suspect that not only did Oh show Jurati a somewhat fabricated "point of view" via her mind meld, but that she has implanted some sort of Katra-agent inside her mind to influence her at critical junctures, should she prove reluctant to do what's necessary. I reckon she knows he/she is in there, but is helpless to do much to prevent it - she's not quite a passenger in her own head, more like an unwilling accomplice sat behind the wheel...

Let me just say that Rizzo is Criminal Minds-level fucked up, only without any background to foster pathos.
I like Rizzo, she is straight forward in her tactics.

If in doubt, shoot it.

She needs to let Narek go though, or he will end up being boiled.

She strikes me as being similar to Lore in some ways, she clearly cares for her brother but doesn't seem to be able to demonstrate it without throttling him (mind you some do like that), Narek just takes it very similar to Data.

It seems Jurati is now going after Rios, she has clearly been doing this for a long time, it is not the sort of behavior you would see from someone who just started in the spying game and had just made their first kill.

Not impressed everyone is acting so stupid over Maddox death but I guess the plot requires it.

Sikaris has been assimilated at some point before 2384. This is huge, especially since they were deep in the Delta Quadrant relatively far away from Borg space.

The Borg were already very active in that region of the DQ. They had encountered and rejected the Kazon and also assimilated a Talaxian ship. It's a cool easter egg though, would never have thought in a million years that such an obscure race like the Sikarians would be mentioned in Picard.

My favourite episode of the season. Easily a 10.

The only problem is I want to watch the next episode right now.. a week is too long of a wait :(
If they used streaming to its full potential, they could have released them all at once, the first three or four all at once, or release them in two or three episode chunks. What's the benefit of having this on a streaming service again? Cursing and gore?

Regarding Jurati's role in things...note how the story has turned so that she doesn't get instant access to Soji.

You answered your own question. That was exactly the information they needed...a clue to the whereabouts of Maddox's lab. And the meditation was so that Soji could overcome her programming not to remember it.

Elnor's a fresh new lead character, he'll make it, and with some new notches on his sword. Hugh...now if they're going the route of making Picard an xB advocate, that would give Picard a boatload of motivation.
Not a surprise really, they cant have Jurati and Soji meeting too soon as I suspect it will give too much away.

Perhaps it is also about keeping Jurati away from Rizzo and Narek for the same reason, if Jurati has/was/is working for the Commodore/Zhat Vash then they will know each other when they really should not, at this point I think Jurati was never the innocent intern she pretended to be, happy to be show to be wrong in future episodes though.

Maddox said his lab had been destroyed when speaking to Bjayzle so the Zhat Vash must already know where it is, which means Maddox was lying or there is a second main lab run by someone else, could the Maddox we saw be nothing more than an LMD himself, if so that would mean they have no trouble fooling scanners and we will see Maddox again.

It always seemed to be going in that direction when Dahj was sent to Picard, Maddox would know that Picard would be supportive due to what happened with Data and help in overturning the ban, all Picard has to do is prove that the attack on Mars wasn't an accident.

Its simply to keep as many subscribers as possible for as long as possible which would not work if they were all released together.

Simple as that really.

.

Rizzo is the Cersei Lannister of the series. Evil but more emotional in executing her plans ("just shoot 'em"). Narek (aka Jaime) is more rational and sympathetic character, yet is very calculating and is probably much more dangerous than his 'sister.' ;)

Great episode! It really moved the story forward in a big way. I especially loved the scenes with Picard and Hugh. It was great seeing the happy reunion. The episode also dealt with Picard's past as Locutus in a very effective way. The superposition of Locutus on the screen with present day Picard was chilling. It seems like Hugh was able to help Picard get some closure on his experiences as Locutus in a way that Seven did not do in last week's episode. It was also nice to see Picard see the Borg as victims instead of monsters.
