I'm not going to say anything about the OP (honestly, this isn't a case of "I think something but I'm not going to say it in public"), but we've had sleepers in the past. So registration dates aren't really anything to go by. Either way, just to clarify.

If the OP really has an issue with Picard then he may be better off deleting his account.
That way he won't be tempted back, I deleted mine years ago although that was simply due to nothing Star Trek related being released and me having an almighty account cleanup, I hadn't used the account in ages.
I came close to doing so again but decided to wait and see about Picard first.
I am not a big forum camper like some of you are.

My problem is not with criticism or even negativity. In fact, there are lots of things I'd like to criticize about PIC. But some people just throw a temper tantrum, or claim what is and isn't Trek (instead of "This does not feel like Trek to me" or "This isn't what I want to see on Trek"). No offense to the OP, who has since changed his wording, but generally speaking. I'm quite new to the online fandom and combined with a certain, close to alt-right faction of criticism, it's a bit disturbing.
To the point where I wouldn't post that, say, the universe in DSC seems to revolve around Michael Burnham, because there are people who just use this (valid) point because they don't like to directly admit that they resent a black woman as a protagonist. (Just an example, nothing to do with the OP.)

You may be right. I didn't start the thread nor do I think I'd do that. I realize how even such comments as mine may be antagonizing to some. But, like I said, it's not meant to antagonize, it's an expression of an entirely different, unfavorable view of this series. It may be harsh, but honest.

Just like with most things in life ... adapt to the constant changes or move on to something else.
One way to adapt is to spend some time in the other forums. They aren't necessarily as quickly paced, nor is the subject matter fresh. However, you will find thoughtful comments and criticisms about every show.

Yeah but is it canon.
If the character who died so horribly in Episode 5 wasn't one we knew well from being a semi regular on one of the other shows I don't think it would have caused certain people to rage quit. Not that that applies to everyone because sure as night follows day some smart Alec is going to roll up and state they never gave a shit about Icheb. His death was not the first untimely death of a character we'd grown used to but it was certainly the most brutal. It did unnerve me but it was a risk worth taking given the direction its taken Seven in.
