I'm seriously in danger of banging on about EM producing the Enteprise 1701-A from ST:Beyond - but it is worth repeating.

The more I gaze at PixelMagic's wonderful rendition of this starship, the more I want it! Right down to the beautifully sharp beveled edge of the primary saucer, and the over-sized saucer underside registration! :adore:

I feel an urge to try and somehow customize one myself, but there's quite a lot present in that particular Ent-A that looks reasonably difficult and complex to replicate using existing EM products...

    Hmmmm...

Would love to get my hands on it as well.

Last time I heard, Ben said they can't make it because Bad Robot does not provide the CG material.

Given how 'protective' Bad Robot is with its Star Trek content, it's possible they haven't allowed Eaglemoss yet to make a model.

I'd love to see the Ryan Church concept for the '09 Enterprise as an Eaglemoss model too.

    Holy shit me too!
I'm not a big fan of these movies, but I LOVE that Enterprise. But even then, I think the actual model lost something in translation (I think it's the changed proportions). That concept art though? Gimme'!

it's much larger than i was expecting, like sarcophagus ship large, so large my phone couldn't focus on the entire thing at once. it's also a lot more blue-green than i was expecting, especially after seeing @dantini's photos.

That's pretty - although it nearly looks like a rotocast of the original AMT/ERTL model, based on the post-Phase II, pre-TMP intermediate upgrade. Kind of wished they'd looked at the 1:350 Polar Lights kit before putting this one out but, as we say on Earth, "C'est la vie"...

US Eaglemoss is killing me. 6 regular ships in less then 4 weeks, 2XL, 3 bonus ships. Almost 3 times what I expected for this month. And 2 sold out before I could place an order, uggghhgh

They've dropped 11 issues of my DeLorean build since October. Skipping ships is okay (not really), but skipping previous issues of the vehicle build that depend on actually being there, for subsequent issues needing them to build upon... Needless to say I have lots of expensive parts sitting on a shelf, waiting for those that came before it. All this crap is coming from China. One might be led to believe that this Coronavirus thing has been messing them up a lot sooner than they originally indcated, impacting international production and shipping. I don't think this is over by a long shot... :(

I didn’t expect to get hit with all this at once either. 2 XLs, two bonus issues, one special & both my regular & Discovery subs all within 1 week.

^^^ This, too, has become common. There can be several months of nothing, then BOOM! A ton of stuff gets sent out and the credit card goes reeling.

Is it worth getting the DeLorean build. Is it hard to assemble?

It's worth it to me. :) I've always been a sucker for the BTTF D, and I owned and restored an '81 DMC-12 about 20 years ago (damn, has it been that long?). I gotta say the engineering of the model is DEAD ON ACCURATE! Many of the littlest, seemingly insignificant details are faithfully replicated and I am incessantly amazed at the work behind creating this mass-production kit, authorized by the DeLorean Motor Company which is still in existence, yes, and they've been taking the money on rebuids, restorations and new builds (they have a warehouse full of OEM parts that was shipped from Ireland to Texas before the Brit government forced them to destroy everything) to build a new concept car.

My biggest problem with it technically is the screwdrivers they send you with the pieces. The handles are too small to get a good torque grip and the main drive shafts are made out of substandard metal and get chewed up easily because none of the metal holes are pre-tapped. The little screws can easily get bound up in the holes, and I've had to pull out some higher-grade drivers to get the job done. That aside, I have zero complaints about the model itself, and the wiring is better thought-out than the original! :D

As I mentioned in the previous post, however, each issue of the subscription needs to be built in a rigidly specific order, with subsequent issues building on what has already been assembled. When one issue is missed, it can be a problem. With the eleven that I am now missing, it is catastrophic, and an expensive paperweight. Calls to Eaglemoss "Customer Service" are a waste of time.

Just playing the waiting game now and hoping COVD-19 doesn't kill everyone over in China who manufactures these things.

IIRC, they discontinued it due to woefully inaccurate modeling. Very much unlike the DeLorean, Bond Car and Ecto-1, which were heavily researched and reproduced with great care. The E-D build was apparently quite wonky from the start and just didn't look right to the eye. The pics I saw of it, the main deflector was all wrong and the windows around the edge, including the famous "Ten Forward" windows were also wrong, if nonexistent. For the kind of money they were asking for it, it had better be damned good and the consensus for those who saw it was, it wasn't, and I would concur. So, Eaglemoss killed it. Or maybe I should say "suspended" it, as I think there was the possibility they were planning on going back and re-tooling it. I don't predict a favorable outcome on that one, though.

Heh... Ten Forward, yeah... :). The PIC model is really quite nice, IMO, and I dig the metallic finish they put on the hull. It was more the interior set design that didn’t quite jive with the exterior, as I recall.

Just got the last two back issues of the standard line that were still on my to-buy list... Back when these were sold at the newsagent's I didn't care about Klingon ships. And only when the Enterprise was redesigned for DIS it made me appreciate the original version.

So... Best Buy has announced today that they're having supply chain issues because of Coronavirus and attributing this to a downward-trending update on their Q1 2020 earnings. This is basically affecting every single company that draws its inventory supply from China. Everything is getting disrupted. Best Buy is just enormous, publicly held, sees their own internal impact coming and got in front of the tsunami that's about to hit their bottom line next month before their stocks tank.

I have no doubt Eaglemoss is experiencing similar issues, which is why so many things have gotten skipped or gone missing. Between manufacturing and shipping, everything having to do with China across the board has been impacted, and I predict very choppy deliveries through (at least) the rest of the year. And now South Korea and Japan are reeling from it too - hard - which are other major manufacturers and shippers of consumer electronics and other goods.

None of this is Eaglemoss' fault, obviously, but their infamous lack of communication to their customers about anything substantive like this continues to prevent them from telling us, "Hey, folks, COVD-19 is really messing up our supply chain, please be patient while it works itself out". Instead, we get defensive silence, which only makes them look worse. It would seem that nobody in that company took a Business/Marketing/Customer Relations 101 course in school.

Coronavirus has been a thing for about two months. What was Eaglemoss’s excuse for shit customer service three months ago? Six? Twelve? Twenty four?

Coronavirus may make it worse, but they’ve been bad for a long, long time.

Very true. Then again, the Chinese government has a tendency to hold back on revealing any kind of information that could paint it in an unfavorable light. They chose to tell the world about it when the realized they could no longer contain it. That doesn’t excuse Eaglemoss’ entire history of being unable to do their jobs, but the more recent drop in reliable shipping really started getting worse since 4Q 2019, which may have been the start of it.
