Did the K'T'inga have that kind of blueish/greenish metallic paintjob in TMP?
It matches these pictures, but they were taken before the final changes to the model were made.

Photos of the original studio filming miniature in TMP configuration make it look quite green.

The miniature was modified several times before the filming of TMP, do those pictures represent the final configuration? In the pictures at the bottom the model seems to already have received some additonal details, but it says the pictures at the top "show the model in the earliest condition".
The AMT and Eaglemoss XL models are missing some details on the bridge module that the final version of the TMP miniature (and the regular EM model) had. So presumably these photos were used as reference, but they were definitely made before the miniature received its final modifications. So I wonder whether the model may have also been repainted as part of these modifications, or if it was indeed still green when TMP was filmed.

It looks like the Eaglemoss version shows the state of the model as it existed in an intermediate step somewhere between Phase II and TMP. That model, like the Enterprise, went through several iterations of detailing and upgrades between when it was first built and when it finally got on screen.

As for the K't'inga's coloring, I believe it pretty much stayed the same up until TUC, and any such discrepancies would be laid squarely on lighting and re-coloring during the compositing process. Just like TNG's Romulan Warbird, the original paint job made it look gray with just the faintest hint of green under normal everyday lighting. It was color-corrected to appear very green in post.

The model was only ever used twice in the films: TMP and TUC (TWOK only showed stock footage from TMP, which if the producers had had foresight, they could have mentioned that they were Romulan ships since the KM simulation took place in the Neutral Zone. Instead they decided to make the NZ a Klingon thing.)

Does anyone know when issue 28 of the Discovery collection will be available for pre-order? Because I've heard that it's the four-nacelled Section 31 ship and I really like that one.

Well, the "Previews" catalog from Diamond Distributors (which I use to order from my local comic book store) just included Issue 27, the Zimmerman, so... maybe next month, for the US?

#27 is up in the store, as well. So yeah, that'd be my guess.

I remember back in the day a hypothesis that being attacked by Klingons in Romulan space was perhaps another element of the test due to its unexpectedness.

More likely the TOS movie people just forgot the Neutral Zone was a Romulan thing and it snowballed from there. Perhaps confusing it with elements of the Organian Peace Treaty - and probably not helped by the ST Technical Manual having said Peace Treaty zone look essentially identical to the Romulan zone.

Not Trek-related...unless you factor in NBC, but does anyone know if Eaglemoss will offer the Mothership and Lifeboat from Timeless?

So Eaglemoss released a new batch of upcoming designs and we now have Kes' Shuttle in the works:

Now, I've blocked out most of my recollection of Voyager, but in seeing this, it startles me how similar it looks to the Battlestar Galactica "6th Millennium Fighter" from the TOS episode The Long Patrol.
