trekcore has been all up on this, but russo quotes goldsmith's voyager theme when seven beams over in "absolute candor": link.

i hadn't noticed in the episode itself or when i listened to the "mystery ship" piece on the soundtrack, but it's there. i'm not 100% on board with what he's done with his discovery and picard scores, but i'm appreciating them for what they are and i love that russo's making these kind of musical references.

Every time I try to recall it in my head, the First Contact theme comes to mind. They should have just used that.

I just watched the Absolute Candor episode tonight. Looks like they cut the VOY cues for time with Seven's introduction. I would have definitely picked up on that had they left it. But it's cool that he is adding them.
