Rian Johnson trilogy canceled

Well, yes, what comes up must come down, and nothing is permanent and lasts forever. That said, at this point the MCU has already outrun my expectations, I was expecting a dud about five years ago, but instead here we are, going on twelve years since its first movie and it's still going strong, with nearly every one of its movies among the most popular for the year it was released, and one actually becoming the number one highest grossing film of all time. Even when the inevitable dud happens, it'll be very difficult to call the MCU a failure by any definition of the word.

Likewise, just because fandom revolted against Game of Thrones in its final season doesn't change the fact it's easily one of the most popular TV shows of the past decade. And I'm not even a fan of GoT.

Captain America: The First Avenger is also rewatchable and never gets stale. Marvel knows how to produce consistently entertaining films(for the most part)! They have a winning formula.

That's the only one that I rewatch! The rest are all mostly fine, competent, often good, occasionally very good, but I just don't have much interest in revisiting them. I watch CA: TFA, though, at least once a year.

I like the MCU. Fun escapism IMO and I liked how they are connected allowing crossover stuff both big like Avengers movies or small like the Captain America school video in Spiderman. Jason

Yeah, they're usually pretty good at giving you the information you need to enjoy that movie. The only ones that might require you to see another movie to really get it is Infinity War and Engdame, but even then it probably wouldn't be to hard to figure out what's going on in Endgame if you haven't seen Infinity War.

There are people on here spewing completely ridiculous nonsense. Do you know how much these star wars movies make??? And saying mandalorian characters are more popular than mainline star wars ones, what??? Based on what, Twitter?

I think they are more liked and it seems a given if we are just talking about Baby Yoda. Granted their is not really a way to measure the question unless we go with the overwhelming hype and sensation Baby Yoda has created. I think the thing I go with though is their has been less negative feedback for The Mandalorian characters than the movie characters. We even got some new catchphrases from it. "I have spoken" and "It's the way." Plus you don't have the classic movie characters on the show which always leads into the question is how much do people truly care about Rey,Finn and Poe and how much interest was it in just seeing the old gang on the bigscreen again.

Sounds as though that eagerly-awaited-by-all Rian Johnson franchise movie might be happening fairly soon! :bolian:

Deadline: ‘Knives Out’ Sequel Officially A Go As Lionsgate Hints At Franchise

... Seriously, though, I saw Knives Out this week and greatly enjoyed it. Though I'm not necessarily opposed to Johnson making more Star Wars, I think contemporary, twisty, goofy mysteries with leftist edges are much better suited to his meta style.

No, they let it be one by just telling the same story over and over instead of expanding. There are about EIGHT Rocky movies, and there's no way that's a more expansive concept than Terminator. ;)

Couldn't say any better myself. Skynet ran the same exact plan in every movie.
