First: great, great idea for a game!! Thanks.

Also, I think albion432 got the only two (and I forgot B&C) as you worded the question. In SC I don't think he defeats either Zora or GK. He just struggles with them to a stalemate, in particular with Zora.

Might be Piece of the Action and Requiem for Methusulah, although I think in the latter they were playing billiards. Close enough.

Edit : Missed it by that much. Go, Phaser Two!

    Yep, he got it!

This might be a mixed metaphor, but the ball's in your court Phaser Two.

Btw, I both used and heard the phrase "missed it by that much" at work yesterday, so it's really weird to read it again today. Still a classic!

Maybe the teaser in The Cloud Minders qualifies as Spock defeating an alien without using his neck pinch thingy.

Uh oh, I think you're right. Surely there can't be any more examples lurking out there . . .

I thought of it a couple weeks ago, but wasn't sure if anyone would be into it, then I forgot about it until yesterday when I decided to post it. Glad you like it!

Like in Savage Curtain, Spock just seems to wrestle and throw the aliens around in Cloud Minders so it looks like Archons and Bread/Circuses are the pure answers.

Oh, yeah. I think you're right. I really like CM a lot but that's sort a weakly blocked or choreographed fight scene. I may have repressed it! (Equally disappointing, wandering off topic for a sec, is the way that both Kirk and Spock are so easily overpowered by random Yonadans in FTWIH.)

    Okay, so . . . hmm.

In which two episodes does Scotty miss clear chances to get to know (and quite well, potentially) one of his shipmates? I can word that a bit better or of course supply additional clues if you folks don't get it right away.

I have the distinct impression that the 3rd season nemesis, budget cuts, may have prohibited a stunt man/coordinator like Paul Baxley, from being hired for this episode.

    Wild, wild guess...

Wolf in the Fold...Lt. Tracy gets killed before Scott can even blink an eye at her

Lights of Zetar...I know. Too obvious, but it’s a guess

    No privacy or marauding flashbulbs . . . .

    1. In which two episodes does Scotty miss clear chances to get to know (and quite well, potentially) one of his shipmates?
    2. In both - and there are only two that fit the description I'm thinking of - Scotty is key to the plot, or he could have been at least.

I seem to remember in Mark of Gideon Spock throwing a henchman down the hall and he just kind of collapses unconscious.

Yes, every time I see that scene I wonder....how did he knock himself out just by leaping across the corridor (with a little help by Spock)? Maybe Spock gave him a telepathic neck pinch.

    Not quite!

    3. But Scotty doesn't show up in time.
