The official Star Trek Twitter was retweeting vids of seven year olds watching Picard. Besides, I am European enough not to worry so much about nudity, so long as there’s no one also being gutted *shrug*
And I watched Alien when I was 8.
I have no issues with nudity, no problems with how it was presented in DSC. I don't think it is childish to have that in Trek. Again, I think its making a much bigger issue out of a nonissue.
Which, again, I don't see the issue.
Sorry should have put that in the post Episode 179 Obi Wan is Forceless. The last 20ish minutes is so Picard.
It was fine. It wasn't anything special but the opening dream with the Ent D in HD was beautiful and I'm happy the series was made just for that.
But it feels like I'm watching Serenity. The whole plot has been beaten to death in sci-fi. I kind of wish it was a movie because 10 episodes this slow will be painful.

Dude, I watched Alien when I was 3, this doesn’t mean it was a *good thing*.
Rape is not family friendly.
It is one of those edgy grimdark hallmark moments though. I mean I thought The Crow was the beginning and the end of cool when I was a moody teenager, and y’know, it’s still pretty good. But there are other flavours of story. And it’s not a flavour that suits Trek.
With due respect, again, I disagree. Rape has been featured in Trek in the past and rarely treated with any sort of gravity or severity.
The fact that it disturbs is not a sign of "grimdark" for me. It is a sign of actually tackling an uncomfortable subject matter with it being actually uncomfortable. Versus the completely inappropriate, lackadaisical, no comment in prior Trek.
Star Trek is about the human condition. This is a flavor that is absolutely appropriate for Trek is dealing with the darker sides of humanity.
Rape has always come across as uncomfortable in Trek.
I was 20 when ALIEN came out and it scared the chit outta me!
(but then again, GODZILLA '54 scared me too, when I first saw it as a kid on TV in the '60's)
I do not think it was handled well or with that discomfort in TOS or at times in TNG. But, I'll admit to may be misremembering. But, it felt lacking the last time I watched "The Enemy Within" two months or so ago.

Alien was the first R rated film I saw in the theater legally.
Aside from the Chestburster scene; it didn't really have much of what I would consider scary or really gory for that matter. Hell, I recall the audience laughing when Ripley clobbered the android and severed its head because the fluid during and after just looked like milk.

Right now I’m watching TNG’s “Encounter At Farpoint Part 1” on CTV SCI-Fi, and I was noticing an interesting thing. In Farpoint, Data is the first person to speak in the series after Picard’s opening log and Picard’s comments about the mission. And in “Picard”, Data is also the first to speak in the series after Picard. I wonder if that was done as a homage?

Late to the party on this one, but I finally got around to watching this last night on YouTube. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I can't really judge serialized tv shows until some of the storylines have played out. So far, so good though.
My only nitpick: I wasn't crazy about the scene with Picard and the scientist at the end. Maybe we needed a little technobabble to explain how part of Data could still exist or why (some) synthetics are created as twins.
Aside from that, I'm liking what I see so far.

Nobody knows. Datas mortuary/family graveyard as seen in Nem.
Lore was dismantled after which Data smashed the pieces with a hammer. Lal was revived and played Joan Of Arc in the latest Hollywood production.
