I keep showing you guys the same angles but with minor changes. Sorry about that. Bridge, BC Deck, saucer section (top and bottom) and Engineering hull are all textured. The neck is a material because I'm still not exactly sure what I want to do with it.

Changes to render settings, gamma and exposure.

    But still, progress.

    All done in Blender 3D.

    Thank you for looking in!

That looks pretty much lifted from the series minus the starfield background.

I gotta say I really like that and so much more than what they did in TOS-R. I thought they really botched that shot. I get the fact of lighting the windows and lights, but the model itself and how it was lighted and shadowed was horrible in TOS-R.

Thank you! That's actually one of the reasons I keep doing this hobby. I would love to make my own version of the original series remastered, with my own effects, of course. I would want them to be as close as I can get to the original effects, but without some of the errors. I'd probably even keep the mix of ship shots that make no sense, First pilot shot followed by a production Enterprise shot, followed by a Where No Man Has Gone Before shot ... it's all part of the charm.

You see THAT is what I had hoped to see in TOS-R. I wanted to see TOS as if they had had sufficient time and money to do things the way they would have liked even given the constraints of the time. We would have had a 11 footer finished on both sides and a bit more variety of viewing angles in the space scenes. Yes, it's a personal fantasy that was never going to happen, but TOS-R was the chance to see what TOS could have done under the best of conditions as opposed to reimagining the series through an early 21st century perspective of vfx.

Forgive a bit of personal promotion here, but I am hoping to revisit an earlier idea of mine called Never seen TOS scenes where I like to present images of things we didn't get to see (or would never likely see) in TOS. And yet these new scenes are meant to be presented as if they had been done back in the day with the resources they had at hand, but under the best of conditions. In extent I have also presented images from TAS as if the stories had actually been live-action TOS episodes. Indeed in the Arts forum I'm currently running a thread called TAS made real where I hope to model ships seen in TAS, but then imaged as if they could have appeared in TOS.

Now back to the regular subject at hand. Beautiful work!

I know! I've been watching that thread and even commented once. I'm very impressed. By the way, the one comment I meant to make but never did was that I thought you should have named your thread: TAS Made REEL I thought that would have been both funny AND gotten across the intent of the thread! But that's me and my insanity. Keep going, I am deeply interested in the insect ship from Beyond the Farthest Star!

I've often thought about trying my had at a USS Bonaventure, but I haven't made one yet.

    Oh please do.

So THAT is what we saw on the planet's surface in THE CAGE.

They brought it down so as to be point blank.

Yeah, kind of! I actually like the one from The Cage better. It was more detailed and looked like a small chunk of the Krell air shaft sequence from Forbidden Planet.

All right, I'm calling this one done. I may tweak some textures and/or materials at a later date, but I feel that this is fairly representative of the original pilot Enterprise.

I don't think so. As @scifieric shows, the CAGE bottom dome did not have the "gun" feature. It does not look like something removed from the hull of the ship, rather it looks like a standard ground field piece with the ship's power wirelessly transmitted through it. It was never "identified" on-screen but it is implied that it is a laser. It seems that Forbidden Planet did the same thing and the guideline for Star Trek, too.

Also the thingy on the bottom of the lower sensor dome of the series production version of the 11 footer didn’t exist on the first pilot version.

Or, maybe it retracted when not in use?

Ha! Not many people know the meaning of the name. Well done! And thank you!
Well, maybe. It wasn't added until the Production phase and then it shows in every shot made with that model. It's an interesting thought.
