Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Kinda disappointed, I really like their reviews but this just seemed lazy without much insight. They increasingly seem to be in the crowd who want that 90s Trek aesthetic or bust.

Ironically, with two Star Trek shows out now, change "I want '90s Trek back!" to "I want '60s Trek back!" and we have the situation we used to be in during the actual '90s. But that little tidbit's probably lost on them. I (don't) wonder what they would've thought of people who sounded like them, if this were 1993?

That's an awfully BIG smile on her face for just meeting him.
I don't imagine for a moment it happens immediately after they first meet. We've seen Narek and Soji getting cosy in the trailers too, yet also saw them meet for the first time in episode one. People meet, they like each other, they get to know each other over time, romance happens. That's fairly standard storytelling. And with characters as polar opposite as Jurati and Roos look set to be, I'm sure the show can get a fair bit of mileage out of an opposites attract storyline. No, I still think it more likely that they won't have met before Picard brings them together, and get involved to some degree over the season. We'll see.

I've seen that look on lady's that I have known intimately in the past.
That face says "... Hello you, I remember how you were in bed..." and it says it with a whole lot of appreciation in those eyes.

I doubt that the Producers are going to have two couples in the same story-line, meeting for the first time and then jumping into bed.

Dr. Jurati's face tells me that she's been through that intersection at high speed before, and wouldn't mind running the red light once again.
;)

I saw saw a review on Youtube for Remembrance and the person didn't even bother to watch the entire episode and read reviews from trolls bashing it.:vulcan: How do you know if you like it or not if you don't even bother watching the entire show first before reviewing it first.:wtf:

Really liked the tone of the first episode, if the next episodes follow suit then this will be a great show. So far this and the Mandalorian are pretty much what both franchises needed.

And following the events after the destruction of Romulus is something I have been interested in since the '09 movie. Only personal quip is I may have to rewrite my Romulan chief engineer Starfleet officer in STO.

Heh ...
STO is in for a major shakeup in its story-line within the next few months.

So far, only in a portion of the backstory text that they did prior to the launch of the game in 2010. STO starts 10 years after STP (assuming the year in STP is 2399) - and hell, with the Romulans working to dismantle a Borg Cube <--- That IS a storyline in STO.

Unless they really go into the genesis and greater detail of the Supernova that wiped out Romulus - even what bwas said in the 1st episode of Picard doesn't contradict their storyline that it was caused by
Romulan Admiral Taris working as an unwitting pupet of the Iconians.
;)

So unless Kurtzman do something like kill off Geordie (who was woven into their opening stories and they have Lavar Burton doing VO for Geordie in said stories as Captain of the U.S.S. Challenger); so far STO doesn't need to recon any of their post game launch content. That said, the Game's Dev team has stated if Picard does really really does start to diverge, STO is just another alternate timeline, and they go on their way doing what they have been doing. (And besides teh comic/books/games are all non-canon anyway.)

Data is also in a mission cutscene, so that's also contradicted.
