Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

They seem to be the most balanced Trek review site on a YouTube. They actually go into detail with their criticisms. Others just seem to hate simply for clicks.

That's fair. There's no doubt they're Trekkies, so their opinions come from an honest place. The main draw is the technical stuff, so there's nothing motivating them to trash every episode or to worship all of them at the Altair.

Compared to a lot of the other youtube guys they are great. I do wonder sometimes how they can get a 1-2 hour video out of a 5-10 second shot in a trailer but they do. I'm a tech guy they get even into too much minutiae for me on the tech side. That is just personal preference.

I used to subscribe because even with the a bit too but minutiee (and I don't like people giving themselves ranks) they were interesting and I did learn stuff and like you said defended their opinions.

My main issue was simply when they started promoting alec peters. Unsubed then and haven't gone back. I dropped trek.fm for a while due tot that (but have picked them back up after they dropped Peters). I'm not sure if they still promote Peters anymore but if they don't I'd consider re-subing. Does anybody know if they currently do?

A new picture to take apart. ;)

I had to look up Alec Peters... and, oh, he's that guy.

I will say, I was tempted to change my username after the whole Axanar nonsense but then I decided, "No, I'm not going to change a username I've gone under since 1996 on account of something as ridiculous as this."

How do we feel about TrekYards on here? I like them, and find myself agreeing with a lot of their analysis. They don’t suffer from the crazy right-wing nonsense that so many others do (and which is completely at odds with Star Trek as a whole).
They talked for several hours about a 6 min Short Trek, and confused windows and deflectors, but I generally like their ship discussions, and they seem to be very nice guys. Would like to get to know them better and just spend an evening talking about ships with them XD

Depends on how long you've been away.
I quit for a couple of months back in August, and They sent me a "Try Us Again - Two Month's for the Price of One" Offer just after Thanksgiving.
But I quit again this month, just can't afford it at this time.
You won't watch Picard?
