Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

I'm surprised there isn't any advance reviews from the media. Sometimes that's the case when the show's big wings are not optimistic about being a success. I hope I'm just being silly with this notion.
If They were that worried, I highly doubt They would have renewed the show already for two more seasons.

Reviews are embargoed until tomorrow. Probably because of spoilers rather than potential negative reception (based upon people's general reaction of the premieres)

There's a review embargo until tomorrow. As simple as that.

Pretty sure it was stated somewhere there is review embargo until after it airs. It's probably 50/50 for shows to lift review embargo before it airs vs after it airs. In Picard case, they had advanced premiers on two continents, with nothing but positive word of mouth. Nothing to worry about ;)

A new picture to take apart. ;)

Wow, chills. So I'm guessing this is an interview with the FNN? It looks to be from the same voiceover from the very first teaser (15 years ago today you led us out of the darkness...". Interesting, because I assumed this was a Romulan speaking.

Star Trek: Picard showrunner on how the new show appeals to both fans and newbies

Jeri Ryan probably knows better than most, seeing as she’s played former Borg Seven of Nine in both Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Picard. “This was vastly different, at least for me,” she reveals. “These sets are… epic doesn’t begin to cover it. You walk onto the Borg Cube and you’re walking onto a Borg Cube.

“It felt like a Trek fan’s dream,” adds Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh), another Borg returnee from the TNG era. “I was like wait a minute, you really built a Borg Cube? The inside of one? On two sets? How is this even possible? It’s massive! And I get to walk on it? I don’t have to pretend I’m on a Borg Cube, I’m on a Borg Cube? It was mindblowing, because the budget’s so much bigger and the scope… That’s the thing about the show, the scope of it is so cinematic and so big that it’s a Trekkie’s dream

If I was single or we were younger, then I’d probably be up. But 8 AM is good enough way to start the day.
I usually give myself an hour or so before I have to go to work, so I can relax with a coffee and watch the news. Tomorrow morning at 5:30, however, will be relaxing with a coffee and an old friend. I'm so damn excited right now!

We're watching it tomorrow before my wife heads off to work. :techman:

You know, I was never that invested in Star Trek: Picard success until now. I mean, I was looking forward to it obviously, just not jumping up and down waiting for it (maybe kinda). TNG was just never my Trek.

Just did a search for Picard on youtube and about 3-4 absurdly negative youtubers show up, all predicting it'll suck, with a sizeable amount of commentators agreeing with them. You know the type I'm sure.

I am now fully invested and hope Picard is a whirlwind success.
