It made a billion dollars, let its a failure because you say so. You do understand that this is just your view and not objective reality? Because if you can’t tell the difference between your subjective experience and objective reality, it honestly explains a lot.

Quite delusional. 800 movies had a theatrical release last year. SEVEN made a billion dollars. SEVEN. Clearly it was a failure. :brickwall:

Like I said .. time will tell. Some of the Transformers sequels made a billion dollars too.. but then one of them under performed.. course correction needed! OMG.. I think for the biggest film brand in the history of cinema airing the climax of the "skywalker saga" limping to billion is what is called underperforming. But it made a billion.. and I never said it didn't .. but during that hey day .. during the time of this new trilogy, we had like four out of five projects change directors, we had Bob Iger one minute saying that there will be a new SW every year to then pumping the breaks and saying that they went too fast.

Let's not play pretend anymore. Your politics is different than mind but that's no excuse to live in a dream world of pure delusion

That’s why you should talk to a therapist because you can’t and it’s obvious to everyone. You’ve been repeating over and over that your opinion is the only correct one and that everyone else is crazy for not seeing what only you can see. That’s exactly what an insane person says when confronted with reality.

Opinions are opinions.. no one would post them if they didn't think they were correct. it's a shade different than saying they are correct. It is just implied that the person giving an opinion is saying it because they they believe it is correct.

It's like eliminating the need for the prefix "in my opinion.." when stating an opinion. Opinions can be stated as facts and it's still pretty obvious what is an opinion and what isn't without the need to spell it out

I never insulted you. I never said "you need help" I never said that you need a therapist. I never insulted YOU for your VIEWS. You people treat me like I'm here doing something wrong, until someone calls you out and and all you can do is make non-arguments back and tell me that I need a therapist. Oh I know you are but what am I-- that is the only argument you folks have EVER made.. and in two weeks, two months, or even two years or whenever people will look back on the sequel trilogy and realize that 1) there was nary an original fresh idea in the whole piece 2) anything approaching an original idea was done with a kindergarten level simplicity 3) a large part of defending these awful films is stringing together a list of tiny defenses that wind up tripping all over each other.. but hey the films check off all the diversity checkboxes so they are "good by default" and "must be defended." It's all extremely hallow. You guys are all paying lipservice to what diversity means, while forgetting that art often pisses someone off in the end.. and the only art you can handle is the milquetoast try to please everyone variety

There is no diversity in these films.. or captian marvel.. sure you might have people that look different, that have a different gender and whatnot, but tehy are all representing the same political views as the writers and the rest of the Hollywood elite.

None of the problems with the
ST have to do with diversity.

Yeah, like zero of the problems--of which there are many--have even the slightest bit to do with it having women and non-white people in it.

uhhhhhhhhhh ... was it a PROBLEM that Star Wars (1977) had white male leads, one prominent white female character, no blacks let alone people of other races? Was THAT a problem????

i.e. you can let everyone on the bus, long as certain people don't get all uppity and expect the front seats? shiiiiiit they oughta be lucky they even get let on that bus. they only make up 10% of the riders. I got paragraphs and paragraphs that says so. maybe certuhn people ought to remember just what the people who designed that buss look like, and be thankful they get to sit down once in awhile. ungrateful people.

FSM, I am just an observer, most times. But I've seen Fireproof try with class and erudition, to explain to you what your actions and viewpoints really are. I've seen others try to do so with more blunt force trauma. Yet you have deliberately not see it. You can't possibly be that ignorant. Why not just embrace what you are: a racist and misogynist? You would not be respected more or less, because everyone already can see what you are, but it would save you a lot of useless typing and self denial.

Yes I'm nothing of the type.. but it's easy to attach these labels, sans their nuance, when one cannot actually make a coherent argument.

    blunt force:

Yes, you are that type. You are the definition of that type. The world isn't made as shitty as it is by wicked people who make the decisions that hurt people and oppress them. Those would be sent to their proper dustbins easily enough. It's people like you who rationalize and embrace the injustices, that attempt to be John the Baptist to a cavalcade of historical mistakes, as if you could make any new converts to a cause that needs to die. Look in a metaphorical mirror one day without the blinders and you might hate what you see. People like you are actually what is wrong with the world. But people like you can change.

Yeah, applying the same argument made here regarding the films towards other aspects of life is chilling and scary in view of history.

It's *checks calendar* not 1977 anymore.

Also: don't forget to breath. You'll do yourself an injury...or break your keyboard at the very least.
