Well that way they dont make the same mistake again.
And they haven't.

As I said, Disney are doing pretty good if out of 5 films you have only one that lots (I know not all) dislike. Even George Lucas himself couldn't do that.
Right. I know I learn best when I'm beaten about the head for my mistakes.

Seeing a movie now-a-days is not cheap, particularly for groups. A group of 4 is $40 (or more) just to walk in the door. It's nearly $5 for a bottle of water, soda is probably about the same, so tack on an additional $20 for drinks. Throw in popcorn or candy for everyone and you're closing in on $80. Sure it's cheap compared to tickets for Lady Gaga or the Lakers, but it's still takes a bite out of one's wallet.
Shut up poor person!
Disney's doesn't want your poor peoples money. They might get contaminated or something.

Everyone knows that $10 from a poor person is worth less than $10 from a rich person.
In fact single $10 ticket from a rich person is worth more than $40 from a poor family!
/sarcasm

When your dealing with multi billion dollar companies that tends to be the only way to get a message through to the CEO's in their ivory money laden towers.

Even then it doesn't always work, look at the abomination that is EA games and its terrible handling of starwars.

The Poe thing I get, because the movies call the shots, Story Group or no, but this is two tie-ins that, while not strictly incompatible, are oddly redundant and contradictory.

Indeed, the Visual Dictionary does mention both Poe's time as an outlaw and in the NR Navy in his character timeline (though it makes Keri Russel seem odd for accusing him of leaving the gang for the Resistance before there even was a Resistance).
I'm not suggesting "Navy Pilot" and "Spice Runner" are irreconcilable backstories in and of themselves (though it is basically stealing Han's backstory), but it does introduce as you say a redundancy because those aren't jobs he just happened to have at various points in his past, they're both specifically said in story to be "the" job he walked away from to join the resistance. Unless he was somehow moonlighting with a spice runner crew while in the Navy...I mean I guess they could (and very well just might) have been an undercover mission, but that's stretching it a bit.

They've owned it. Let the poor filleted horse rest and go back to actually liking the franchise we profess to be fans of!

And equally I knew people who lost intrest after the TLJ and didnt want to go see solo as they expected to be let down and waste there ticket money like they did TLJ.

When they saw Solo on DVD they actually liked it and regretted not seeing at the cinema.
Are these the same people who you “knew”
who were pirating The Mandalorian?
I bet 2 ounces of beskar they are :)

I agree with you @King Bob! Luke in the “original” trilogy was never fully developed enough to like or dislike, he was on a journey, and his development served to move the story forward, not the character.

The Last Jedi FINALLY gave us a fully fleshed out Luke, albeit a much darker and sadder version than expected.

Not everyone is lucky like you and me.

For some people $10 is a big price, especially if you have a large family.

Seriously.
Thank your lucky stars $10 is no big deal. I do.

‘Expensive’ is still a stretch. Also, the idea that Disney doesn't target poorer families is absolutely ridiculous.

I actually like SW... A lot. The OT will always hold a special place in my heart. The PT, despite it's clunky dialog and wooden characters, is still enjoyable. I loved Rogue One and really liked both Solo and TFA. Mandalorian has been really good. The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series ranged from decent to great, depending on the episode. TRoS is not bad, as I mentioned in an earlier post. The only disdain I have for SW is solely directed at TLJ.

Cool. Here’s your “I’m unique” medal.
What’s great about you not liking TLJ is that this thread is about a whole ‘nother movie! :)

As I have mentioned many, many times, I don’t care about the opinions of people willing to pirate content, especially if said opinions involve a reluctance to spend money. :)
Disney didnt leave the UK with a lot of choice.

And I guess you should put all us UK members talking about the mandalorian here on ignore.
Though you cant put mods on ignore and I believe at least one UK mod watches it.

Though it's less to do with reluctance to spend money and more to do with being unable to spend that money.

Not everyone has the technical know how to set up a VPN.

Still the freinds in question are buying the subscription when it is available to purchase.

Piracy is a crime. That’s not my opinion it’s a fact.

So I don’t have sympathy for people who choose to engage in said crime.

Why not focus on the positive? I never understood the obsessive nature of sticking to the bad.

I was thinking about this the other day, anyone get a Reaver vibe from The Knights of Ren’s ship?
In particular the “dirty” exhaust...

Nope. Zero sympathy for pirates. I love how people try to soften it with no recognition of the impact, especially on VFX artists.

Feel bad for my friends in that field.

Exactly. Honestly, I don’t mind that people do it as much as the ridiculous rationalisations people give as if they’re somehow not in the wrong.

Calm down.

Lot of people in the UK will be buying the Disney subscription as soon as it becomes available to actually buy. So no one is losing any money as Disney will get their sub fee.

Or in my case with a VPN they are getting the subscription paid anyway.
