It was a top grossing film. I wish to be rejected so hard.

At this point in time you can strap a star wars sticker on a literal turd and it will gross a billion.
The name is selling not the content.

Eventually if you keep up with releasing poor quality films that luxury wont hold.

However I think TLJ was Disney only bad film. The other have been pretty good even solo.

But if Disney hadn't listened to fans and carried on with TLJ quality we would be looking at catastrophe with the franchise.

However strong showing from the mandalorian and the most positive reaction from the new film has saved it.

I guess I should get the stoning out of the way. I like Luke Skywalker better in The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker than I did in the original trilogy. I prefer the mature version of the character, and Hamil's acting skills have clearly been refined over the years.

Solo: A Star Wars Story and it’s $393.2 million gross would like to have a word with you.

I dont think that was a bad movie.

It was released with poor marketing and against strong competition plus everyone still had the foul after taste of the last jedi in their mouths.

It still made a profit but if anything it shows that the franchise label is beginning to show some wear and people are less willing to trust the starwars brand now.

TLJ got away with it as the Force awakens and rogue one proved reasonble popular and the revived franchise was fresh. People still trusted the starwars label .

If TLJ was released now I doubt it would do half as well.

If I was Disney I would want to make sure any future films are fully planned out and solidly made. Not slapped together on the fly and in some cases by multiple producers and directors.

Per Wookiepedia:
Many years after the end of the Galactic Civil War, a former Imperial senator discovered the remains of the Tantive IV lying decrepit in a hangar in the Yarma system. Sympathetic to Leia's cause, the senator repaired the former consular ship and returned it to her as a gift. Leia used the vessel as her personal flagship from the Resistance base on Ajan Kloss. Given the lack of barracks on the moon, most of the Resistance support crew lived and slept aboard the Tantive IV when not on duty.[14] The starship was later used by the Resistance in the a battle against the Sith fleet on the planet of Exegol.[12]

Which is odd, because the heroes steal an unrelated Corellian Corvette from Corellia in Resistance Reborn. I know we've already mentioned the RotS Tantive IV/Sundered Heart/Tantive III thing, but is the first time in the new Star Wars canon where we've had two mutually incompatible backstories for the same thing at release? I've seen movies where it happened before (the most recent that comes to mind was Independence Day II, where the bridge-novel says Jeff Goldblum's wife died in a car accident, but the art-of book and novelization said she had cancer), but I though the joy of the Story Group was that this wouldn't happen anymore.

See above.
Whi h shows at that point loss of trust in the starwars brand.

Hopefully the mandalorian and the rise of Skywalker has reversed that somewhat.

Out of:
Last jedi being shit
Force awakens being meh/ok
Rogue one being excellent
Solo being good
Rise of Skywalker being good.

2 good, one excellent, one meh and one shit is pretty good for a franchise if you ask me. Even startrek cant pull off that sort of quality if you picked 5 films in order.
Disney are not doing badly if you ask me.
Even marvel have had some disasters.

Katleen Kennedy is doing a pretty solid job. Yes there are some areas of improvement she needs to look at, like proper planning and making sure the directors she picks are up for the job and dont need to be sacked halfway through. But overall for the early days of a franchise she is doing well.

Disney making money.

TLJ is controversial. "Being shit" is subjective.

Sure.

There are even people that liked the phantom menace and attack of the clones and place them higher than empire strikes back.

Hell I knew one person who favorite character was jar jar.

I think this is it. I just didn't know anyone, online or off, that was clamoring for a Han Solo origin movie.

And equally I knew people who lost intrest after the TLJ and didnt want to go see solo as they expected to be let down and waste there ticket money like they did TLJ.

When they saw Solo on DVD they actually liked it and regretted not seeing at the cinema.
