Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

We've known that for a while. :)

I only just saw all the trailers so to me it was a surprise. I loved the way she spoke.

But that ending of the trailer with the Borg Cube, really? Are we going there again? is the girl a clone of the Borg Queen pre tech add ons?

Welcome aboard! :) :borg:

You've come to the right place for rampant speculation! :D

Thank you.

So anyone else have any thoughts about the Borg stuff and the woman? Picard refers to her as woman not girl. Not sure why I keep calling her a girl.

I can't sleep (I just got up and am typing this at 4:00 in the morning). I'm up to the seventh season in TNG in the re-watch and I saw "Inheritance" yesterday. I don't know how much this will have to do with Picard but it at least relates to Nemesis. Doctor Juliana Tainer (Soong's wife) said that Doctor Soong built three androids before they built Lore. All of which failed. B-4 accounts for one of them. But there are two other androids unaccounted for who could also look like Data.

Do we know yet if we’re getting one episode on January 23rd, or two? I’m guessing probably one but a “two-hour series premiere” like in the old days would be rad. (I think Discovery did this as well?)

I hope all episodes are 2 h epics, since streaming is not limited by TV schedules...

Wouldn’t that require double the filming time, though, for starters? Picard’s 10 episodes had a filming schedule not too far off from 10 episodes of a season of Discovery.

Armenian Businessman?

Aside from a passing reference in Errand of Mercy there appears nothing about Armenia, on screen or in books.

KIRK: Organia's description, Mister Spock.
SPOCK: Inhabited by humanoids. A very peaceful, friendly people living on a primitive level. Little of intrinsic value. Approximately Class D minus on Richter's scale of cultures.
KIRK: Another Armenia, Belgium.
SPOCK: Sir?
KIRK: The weak innocents who always seem to be located on the natural invasion routes.

It's a real life country lmao

The review sounds vague. Everything in it is stuff we could've figured out or were a given.

Different in tone from DSC? Check.
More somber? Check.
More grown up? Check.
Still has Star Trek-y stuff in it? Check.
Characters in different places? Check.
Out of all the old series, DS9 is the closest to today's TV? Check.

We know all this.
