I had a severe sinus infection back in September. Lots of coughing, chest congestion. Finally went away after getting a steroid shot and some anti-biotics. However, three months later, I'm STILL getting the sensation of water at the back of my throat, feeling the need to clear my throat, and wake up in morning coughing up thick mucus. Super annoying

It's a sound tactics imo but it might be more diplomatic if you'd start "I got the impression that you think..." rather than "I know you think...". It sounds less accusing and leaves him the option to claim you misunderstood his actions (or lack of). This way both of you can keep face.

A for the rehearsing panic bit: I am so not looking forward to a complicated dental surgery. Got the date yesterday: Feb 11th. 2 months time for trembling, having nightmares and trying to find a way to skip the appointment. (I'll get an implant in the upper jaw and since the one is too thin the dentist must lift the bone. To that end he'll crack it in one point, push it upwards and then insert the implant with the bone - hopefulle - growing around it in a bump. It'd be bad enough to a normalie but I have a dentist phobia..). So basically we are sitting in the same boat: we're both scared, we both know things can go wrong and we both know we can't chicken out but must go through with it. So, let's be strong together :)

Good luck with the dentist. I really don't like going to the dentist since I had a bad experience with one.

I've had only bad ones all my life. This one seems ok, but that'll be my first implant with him. At least he has good staff who are aware of me being afraid and who are taking it into account. That's already a big plus.

My first dentist was definitely one I'd never recommend. One time the anesthetic didn't take and they just said I was having a nightmare. They were generally pretty bad though.

My second was ok, but not that good at making the more nervous types at ease.

My current one is very good at making you at ease.

^that's only too true. Didn't know the phenomenon had a name. Thanks for the enlightenment :)
Frustrating thing today: I've slept extremely badly and it'll be a veeeery long day *sigh*. Classical case of "no rest for the wicked", I suppose :D

edited to add more frustration: I just got my heating bill for 2018 and have to pay an additional 115 Euros (some 130 USD). Very annoying. :censored: I usually get about 100 bucks back but gas became very expensive last year. Ah well, at least 2019 will be cheaper. I heated only about half as much as 2018. Even global warming has its silver line

We finally got our tree up, but the lights didn't work. So had to go and buy some. Now we have the tree with lights no decorations on it yet. Poor tree, first it was soaking wet from the rain had to put it in the truck to dry, then no lights, now lights but nothing else. It must feel under dressed!

    Semi-social events obligation.

Got one tonight. VA Christmas dinner. I don't have to go, but it's a good idea.

The organization hosting it puts on a good spread, even for a vegetarian like me. I will probably have to field stupid questions like "ain't eatin' any ham?" Obviously not.

We have a lot of friends that are gluten free. I don't mind doing the cookies for them. But it is hard sometimes to make sure I have all the flour gone! off of counters and so on. So I try to do them first or last. I miss the days before I had to worry about gluten free. But I support my friends and family that have to deal with it!

Are they actual celiac people or diet fad people?

That would affect how far out of my way I’d go to accommodate someone.

People who cross the street on red, making drivers stop for them and causing a traffic delay. Saw it twice this week.

I bought some sweaters at Abercrombie and Fitch today and realized when I got home they forgot to remove the security device from one of them.

Err, how do you get those off?

You'd be better off going back to the store with your receipt. Take it from someone who spent years in retail. Getting those things off is a bitch! But...if you can't go back, you need a very powerful magnet, a good pair of needle-nose pliers and strong hands.

May be one of the worst days I have ever had at work today. Busy as all hell, plus our computer system went down three times so we couldn't take credit cards. :brickwall: :wah:

I mean, when the best part of your day is getting a fucking FLU SHOT... :sigh:
