It goes by quickly, but that looks like the refit at the end, with a glowing blue inset deflector.

Gonna be a bummer when it ends with the death of the titular characters in Star Trek III.

I really hope to see the refit or the A for the first time since star trek 6.

The Nickelodeon show is probably for younger audiences, but they have said Lower Decks would be for everyone.

In regards to the twitter image:

Why do the cartoon characters have grossly exaggerated eyes? Even Disney doesn't camp it up and they know the power of facial and eye expressions, which is one reason their animated escapades appeal to all audiences. That linked image comes across like a cheap imitation. Even TAS did a better job with facial designs than a bloated caricature. It's a bit blunt and I had college graphic designers that were experts in their craft, but whose stinging critiques would make me (or anyone, to be frank) look like Pollyanna Happyoptimism by comparison.

I have a feeling that the new Trek Animated's are going to be more along the lines of "Rick & Morty" rather than "Spongebob" or "Blue's Clues".

Aye, and it's no longer 1966 and a lot of definitions have changed - I need to remember those. And Trek was embracing of kids back then too. Still, most kid-friendly things today almost actively eschew adults and really treat kids as being "younger than their age" in what are or were or were peceived as family-friendly, it depends on whom one asks I suppose...

I still don't care for magic mushroom green smurfs in space (nor was I always keen on oddly-shaped space whales in Galaxy Child, etc) but the attention to detail and gradient shadowing are extremely good in those drawings. :techman: (Even despite the 90 degree phaser blast that I couldn't help but to mention, the distanced Klingon ship looks good and they got the phaser blue color and glowing bouncy explosion streak bits done right :) )

It's probably just my nostalgia kicking in, but those stills very much remind me of the animated style of TAS, even though I know that the shows themselves will have a much more dynamic cartoon design.

The shots of the Tardigrade in what appears to be the TOS warp core don't sync with what we saw of the Discoprise engineering section in the last short. It would be cool if they do actually integrate the two.

Great shots! I can't wait to see both of these animated Short Treks. And "E&D" seems to give definitive proof that CBS considers the DSC Enterprise to always have looked like that, rather than some convoluted 'Cage original -> DSC refit -> WNMHGB second refit' nonsense.

And also great seeing the (unaltered) TMP Enterprise! Awesome stuff!

I assume "Ephraim & Dot" will be giving us the point of view of these two characters and will be filling us in on what happened in the rest of the 23rd Century that DSC S2 left unresolved while also giving us a glimpse into TOS and the TOS Movies from their perspective?

If the scene of a Klingon BoP firing on the Enterprise is an indication, they'll depict as far as TSFS (or... shudder... TFF). It could also be TUC, but the BoP is not cloaked.
