Could "The Starlost" be remade today?

^^ That looks fantastic. I don't think I've ever heard a single word about that one. 
It's a great series. And, even if I didn't ever watch the Starlost, I know that Star Maidens is more enjoyable and fun than it because, unlike the former, it never takes itself seriously.^^ That looks fantastic. I don't think I've ever heard a single word about that one.

I read a few reviews of the show, and none has spent a good word for it. There is must be a reason why there aren't Starlost conventions out there.
But let's talk about a 70s really underappreciate jem...

The music is even more turgid than in The Starlost. And seriously... naming their home planet Medusa?
At least the costumes look decent.
I watched the first episode of Star Maidens. It's Angel One: The Series. Even the way they sit down in some scenes would make Riker proud.

Oh, I think there were a number of '50s and '60s B-movies that beat them to it. For that matter, the trope goes back at least as far as Greek myth and the Amazons.
Absolutely! And I love the single gloveHelmets, crop tops and hot pants. Now that's sensible uniform.
Planet Earth, the second Genesis II pilot, also used a similar scenario in the early 70s.
Couldn't even make it through half of the pilot of Nancy Drew - its absolutely NOTHING like Nancy Drew; Just like Riverdale, the adaptation changes just about everything that was at the core of the original. It may be a decent teen supernatural mystery show, but its definitely not Nancy Drew.
That's generally how revivals, reboots, and reimaginings go-- they really just recycle names and terminology, with no respect for the source material.
You know what is one the best reboot out there?
Star Blazer 2199.
This is how you reboot something.
It's not possible to do the Nancy Drew of the novels in this TV series,or in the present day. In fact, a Veronica Mars-type version might work best.

And yes, Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and Tom Swift all work best as period pieces, and without modern technology. Done properly it could be great television.
Take a look at it, and see.
Just like Superman, Batman, the other DC Comics characters, James Bond, the Marvel Comics characters, and a few others, they have to change in order to be relevant to other readers/viewers BESIDES die-hard fans (Nancy Drew & the Hardy Boys in particular.) Done 'properly' the way you want it, they would be great television for you and others like you-but for everybody else, they would be boring.
