Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Requires some clarification!

Pretty bad considering it's a subscription-based business, although the rise of the web store has suggested for a while they've been thinking about switching over to a pure retail model.

I’ve received a follow-up email.
Hi,

We hope this email finds you well.

Earlier today we sent an email to customers informing them about changes to our Star Trek Starship Collection subscriptions in some territories. This will only impact some customers in Europe, depending on when you started your subscription, and does not apply to the Discovery collection.

The original Starship Collection will continue through to issue 180 as planned, production is not stopping, but those customers who are affected will need to buy subsequent issues from our online store in their area. If you did not receive this email, you should not be affected.

As for Star Trek Discovery, the collection continues unaffected, and we look forward to expanding your range of Discovery ships for some time to come!

Please disregard any communication that says otherwise, and if you have any questions, please reach out to our customer service team by calling 01425 462 184 or 0844 493 6091; or sending an email to customercare@eaglemoss.co.uk

We apologise again for any confusion caused.

What’s funny is that I’m not a subscriber of the main range and I got the initial email. I also don’t understand how my area is the one affected since Eaglemoss is a British company.

I just received a similar email, but abbreviated and with a geographical difference for US customers:
Hi,

We would like to thank you for being a subscriber to the Star Trek Starships Collection.

Subscribers in some countries may have received an email announcing the end of the subscription program.

This does NOT affect subscribers in the United States. Your subscription will continue monthly without any interruptions.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact customer service.

Toll free number:

Email: customerservice@eaglemoss.com
Opening times: 9am-10pm (EST) - Monday to Friday

Happy Collecting,
Eaglemoss Family
I'm not entirely sure why this only impacts "some customers in Europe"? Europe is a big place. Which regions? Is there some condition whereby this may have a further impact elsewhere?

Sadly, we probably won't know the answers to any of these questions until they prematurely kill it like they did with "some countries".

This is really weird...

Per Ben’s latest twitter update it affects the subscriptions a total of 126 people mainly in Continental Europe. It has no impact on the US & very little in the UK. Discovery line not affected at all. Production on models is continuing.

So I’m one of the very few in the UK who is affected who was never a subscriber in the first place. Seems very bizarre.

Considering the generally piss-poor customer service for subscribers, that they'd even bother sending emails to something that only effects 126 people doesn't really make much sense either. So either they thought it was going to be more broadly applicable and blasted it out to many more customers, or it does effect more than the 126 customers in Hungary or wherever.

Customer service, in general has taken a dump... It's all about money now not happy customers that bring you that money..

Other than being black, they have nothing in common.

Sure, it's obviously inspired by the Vengeance, but I can't see them existing in the same universe together, there are differences that don't work. For one, they don't have saucers, they have triangles, and the their nacelles are a completely different shape.

I think the “existing in the same universe” thing was him just being facetious. But yes, the S31 ships are clearly inspired by the Vengeance.
