There's not much we know about the new characters besides thumbnail descriptions but based what we've seen in Picard Countdown so far, I think the character I'm going to like the most is Musiker. She's not strictly by-the-book, gathers a lot of intelligence on the enemy, and seems to have a nice personality but could be a bad-ass at the same time. All traits that I admire. And she's middle-aged, not in her 20s, so she's lived a little. And by living a little, she probably has some interesting stories.

The British guy rocking the Disco Spock look who says "she has no idea what she is" in the trailer.

    *googles*

    Narek, according to IMDB.

But really, I'm in for the nostalgia. The Next Gen crew (even though I'm not their biggest fan), Seven of Nine and Hugh. I want to know what they've been up to the past 20 years.

Don’t even know their names to even list them, but I’m genuinely interested in the whole lot.

I’d be lying if I said that Seven’s story isn’t the one I’m most excited to find out, though. From the moment she showed up in the trailer, I’ve been all in on her being in this. In fact, given the fan love it has got, if she’s not promoted to a series regular for the second series, it would seem like crazy decision-making. Maybe she dies, though, who knows?!

New characters are a closed book. Have no feelings towards them one way or another. Surprise me!

The lady with the gray thing by her eye! She's cool! ;)

[Yes, I'm all too familiar with Annika Hansen / Seven of Nine!]

I'm not really familar with the names, but Elnor, the Romulan who looks like a Samurai. I also like Mystery so I hope it's good with this Dahj character.

Elnor, for sure. Though I am super stoked to see more Romulans. My one real hook in to this show.

Harry Treadaway. He was in Penny Dreadful TV show, where he played Dr. Frankenstein. Fantastic actor.

Aside from Dahj, who I feel is the obvious choice, I'm most curious about Rios. I've enjoyed Santiago Cabrera's performances in previous things I've seen him in, and I'm always interested when Star Trek brings in more roguish character types.

Yeah, Treadaway is the only supporting actor in this series I've seen elsewhere before. I'm also intrigued because it seems fairly clear from the trailers he's not part of Picard's crew, and likely the initial antagonist who leads the group that kidnaps Dahj.

Yeah, that's right, he doesn't look like a crew member from the trailer - and yet in various comic con appearances to publicise the show, the two Romulan actors (Treadaway and Evagora) have talked about how their characters hate each other, having had very different upbringings, and their description of the dynamic gave the impression they would be together as crew mates rather than adversaries who only meet occasionally to cross swords. So I'm really interested to learn how the story actually pans out and how all these characters come together!

My initial draw to this show was twofold - firstly Picard and Patrick Stewart, as someone who grew up on TNG and her sister shows, and secondly Santiago Cabrera, whose career I've followed with interest ever since Heroes, way back when. Michelle Hurd is the only other cast member I'm familiar with from past work. But as time has gone by and more information has become available, I've become genuinely interested in all the characters and what their histories are and how they all come together, what the story of the show is going to be. I'm really looking forward to meeting them all!

Maybe Treadaway's character is thrown together with the La Sirena crew later on in the season. But in the two trailers we've basically only seen Narek interacting with Dahj and non-main characters. We've never seen him around Picard, Rio, Musiker, Elnor, or Jurati - which certainly appear to be the core Sirena crew.

Elnor - the Romulan-Elf Samurai - why is he so loyal to Picard?
Musiker - looks like given her past involvement with the rescue mission she's going to be another central female character of the series
Dahj - I think we'll be guessing what's her real identity and relations to Picard throughout much of S1

Them too. Plus Data with dyed hair :lol:

And I hope Captain Worf will also pop in at some point. I hope he won't be issuing the order to ram his ship once he becomes a captain ;);)

I agree they probably will come together somehow later in the season - like I said, I'm really interested to see how it all pans out and how all the characters end up coming together, what role they all play in the unfolding story.

Also, just to be nitpicky, the captain of La Sirena is Rios not Rio (this particular mispelling crops up a lot, I've noticed)

Wasn't he the older version of Tom Hardy's character in one of the movies?

Elnor, gee I think you're swell
And you really do me well
You're my pride and joy et cetera

Finally got that out of my system.
