NFL 2019 Season

Stephen A. Smith is definitely not defending Colin Kaepernick's antics now, if he ever was.

I heard even Hue Jackson bailed after the latest shenanigans and instead of up to 25 teams watching this douchebag, more like 8 eventually showed up at the "new" location.

My question is why was the workout scheduled with hardly any notice? Why was it scheduled for a Saturday rather than on a league off day? Why did the league insists on their own video and no video taken by Kap's team?

It does not appear to me that the league's number one focus here was giving Kap a fair chance to showcase his skills. It seems to me the focus was on providing a perfunctory appearance of a fair workout while making complete control of the process the NFL's. Had the league given more notice, perhaps some of these problems could have been worked out in advance.

The league already looks bad with respect to how they've dealt with this situation. Team after team has brought in quarterback after quarterback for workouts who don't have anything close to Kap's resume. So Steven A. and the owners claiming they don't want to bring him in for private workouts out of fear of blow back if they don't sign him is disingenuous at best.

From what I've read, there are teams right now who would sign Antonio Brown if they were sure he wouldn't get suspended, so the owners claim of fear of controversy is a lie.

Oh, and the Raiders are 6-4. :D

OK, the Rams sucked less than we did. That's a start.

I didn't watch, more Trubisky ineptitude or was Nagy's shitty playcalling involved like always?

So many things wrong with this team, it's hard to know where to start.

There was plenty of blame to go around. Trubinsky is...not great.

Without our 2 starting wide receivers, it was basically the Todd Gurley show. He had probably 130 total yards and a TD.

Not a great game by any stretch, but our defense played very well.

Looking forward to next week on MNF when the Rams take on Lamar Jackson’s Ravens. Quite a step up from Trubisky!

And the sad part is, the Bears were stopping the run if nothing else. IDK where our defense went on the trip to London. Lost by the airline no doubt, we haven't been the same since.

Until the Texans get rid of their head coach and defacto GM they'll never amount to much. After all those years of being an Oiler fan, watching them leave town under bad circumstances, and now this horrid mess called the Texans. Blah.

I honestly don't know why I bother, but I do, and will continue with this self inflicted pain. I have to leave now for my masochist group meeting, today we all will confess what upsets our stomachs the most and will eat a lot of it at the meeting to prove our worth.

Mark Walton, RB for the Dolphins has been cut for "allegedly" striking the woman pregnant with his child.

Good riddance. I don't expect these guys to be choir boys, but I do expect them to make better choices than they do in situations like these.

Early in the season, I was starting to get back into the NFL. But these kinds of incidents weigh on the conscience, and I've drifted away again.

Seems to be happening more and more. Don't know if it's simply just a downturn in the quality of player character or if these things have been happening all along and they were just able to keep it quiet more effectively.

The Ray Rice AC elevator incident seemed to be the watershed moment that got the whole phenomenon rolling in the public sphere of awareness.

I think with cell phone camers and video, and the court of the internet, things are much more "out in the open" than they used to be.

But you could be right, that the quality of the players getting signed may be going downhill. More and more these teams are big business and the old school owners who would never have signed these kinds of people are getting scarcer.

I may have issues with the McCaskey's inability to run a 21st century team, but I doubt they would sign anybody with any question marks. That's assuming Walton had any question marks before he was drafted. Some guys do.

Same reason that I don't know how kids manage to survive school/college anymore. Everyone has a camera at all times, you're encouraged to post every dumb passing thought, and everyone loves internet outrage. You can't say something dumb, make a mistake, or in this case do anything stupid or violent, abusive, etc. and get away with it being a rumor, hearsay, or he said/she said. There's receipts for everything these days, so rumors that would have spread about some guy being a cheater or wifebeater in the old days turns into video of the guy beating his wife, which forces a totally different response.

NOT IN ANY WAY CONDONING ANY OF THIS, just saying that before this would have been a rumor or swept under the rug, cameras and internet force it all into the open with proof. So now there are scandals vice rumors. It's good for the parties being abused, but makes it look like it's suddenly a new problem when in reality we just FIND OUT about it a lot more now...

And all that shit follows you to the grave. Forget about surviving high school and college. What happens when you graduate and can't get hired because every potential employer you interview with doesn't approve in your choice of Tide Pod ingestion or accidental self-immolation "challenge" that went just a smidge too far?

I am VERY proud never to have built for myself any kind of significant digital footprint.
