News The Disney+ (The New Streaming Service) Thread

THIS. There have been some chunks of netflix shows that are clearly padded out to make an hour.
I want bang for my buck, not empty calories to fill some antiquated idea of how long a show should be.
This is something Netflix's Marvel shows were particularly guilty of, and not just in the length of their episodes, but in the length of their seasons, too. Most of those shows' seasons had more episodes than they actually had story for, and you could really feel how they stretched things out to fill time.

I would assume the content will be there as long as the Sun burns in our sky or when Disney crumbles, which ever happens first.

Thank you, I really want to see some things they are going to have but I'll be waiting to start paying another bill for a while.

Also, the last 5 pages of this thread are just ridiculous. Shows can be any length, they don't charge by the minute. Done.

I just remembered another thing that's been bugging me, when you click on something, it doesn't tell if it's on your watch list or not. It has the button to add something to it, but even if you have it in your list it still comes up with plus to add it, rather than a check or something to show that you already added it.

New documentary series Pick of the Litter about guide dogs starting on December 20. (Sticking with those Friday debuts.) Sounds like it's going to be 6 30-minute episodes. By the same people who made a very similar full-length documentary a year or two ago. This time with different dogs I suppose.

I'm also beginning to wonder the whole "my money's worth" argument, did someone sign up for three years for one show that they had only seen trailers for? That seems silly, but, that is the only way it makes sense to complain about "moneys worth" when there's so much other content.

There's more value here than over at Apple...

Honestly, I don't know. Mandalorian isn't even the main reason why I would subscribe to Disney+, or even in the top 10. There is so much other content on there that I fail to see how it isn't worth the money.

So I tried adding back a bunch of the stuff that disappeared off my watchlist, and now that stuff is on there, but the old stuff disappeared. I'm wondering if maybe they put up a limit of how much you can have on your watchlist at one time or something.

I’m on season 2 of Gargoyles. It’s so good! Lexington, Broadway, and Brooklyn are my favs. They give the show some great humour.
The first two seasons are amazing. The third season was dumbed down for a Saturday morning timeslot. IIRC, there is only one or two episodes written by the original writing staff. It's generally considered non-canon by fans.

I mostly did it for my kid. Most the headline things like the Marvel movies I've seen a bunch of times.
So far, I'm extremely satisfied. I might be taking a spin through Tron soon.
