Feline Follies

I stumbled across those "I_Am_Puma" video just this last weekend. Fascinating how much of Messi's behavior are traits we usually associate with canines. Enjoys, or at least tolerates baths, loves vehicle rides with his head peering out the window, those sorts of things. He wasn't even the least bit fazed when his caretakers were given a Dyson vacuum and they switched it on for the first time. His expression was almost one of "Yeah, so?" He did, however pull the "I fits, so I sits" schtick as they uncrated the cleaning tool. He didn't destroy the piece of cardboard set aside for him, well, not as rapidly as I expected. He raked his paws across it, but for the most part he merely "creased" the material; it didn't immediately shred with deep gouges. In case you're wondering, he still had his claws; they were not "amputated". Either they carefully trim his claws, or else he just seems to know how much extension and pressure to apply.

The betrayal.

I was just going by the look on the cat's face when it tasted the stuff.

The funny thing is, fresh catnip must have a weird taste too, since my late girl cat, who would eat leaves, wouldn't eat the catnip.

Sometimes they sell the fresh stuff at Home Depot or Wal-Mart with the herbs.
I've seen other stuff like Thyme and Parsley so maybe I'll look for that. I hope I'm not inviting disaster into the house but given their lack of interest in the dried stuff I'm hoping I'm safe.
