Is it possible to whittle down all the Canon Issues down to 3x Time Lines?

Anti-Trekker's theory of 3x Time Lines is interesting IMO.

Given all the Canon Lore that has happened.

Yes, ST:NEM, ST: ENT, & ST:DSC all happened.

Given all the Temporal Escapades & Hijinks, I think this theory of Time Lines makes some sense.

What are your thoughts on his theory?

Why do these things always have to be videos, and lengthy ones at that.

Sorry, too long, can't be bothered - give me something to read instead...

Probably not. There's always going to be some mistakes. Maybe there's a new timeline every time someone makes a continuity error. Maybe Vulcan's moon got wiped out by a timegun like Annorax had. Maybe the Mirror Universe of Crossover is different from the one in The Emperor's New Cloak because in one the Alliance has cloaks and in the other it doesn't. Maybe Worf's forehead had chronitons stuck in it so that's why it looks the same in past, present and future of All Good Things and not like Season 1 Worf. Or it's just a work of a bunch of people who sometimes try their best to get stuff right and other times mess up real good.

I didn't watch it. But I know the theory. It goes:

Timeline 1: TOS through FC (1966-1996)
    Timeline 2: FC through DSC/PIC (1996 on)
    Timeline 3: The Abrams Films

The idea is that the Borg going back in time to try to stop Zephram Cochrane from launching the Phoenix is what led to the split between the first two timelines.

"Trials and Tribble-ations", airing just before First Contact, would be one of the last episodes of Timeline 1.

For each of the three timelines I listed, there's a Mirror Timeline to go with it. The Defiant from "In the Mirror Darkly" would be travelling dimensions from Prime Timeline 1 to Mirror Timeline 2.

Tim Thomason's Two Timeline Theory (or 5T for short):

Timeline 1: All of Star Trek, pretty much. TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks, Sectioj 31, and most of the movies.

Timeline 2: Those last three movies.

All the continuity mistakes are continuity mistakes.

I don't dismiss it outright but there's a major hole in the Three Timelines Theory.

If things changed after First Contact, you'd think Picard and the Enterprise crew would've noticed once they get back. So you'd also think either Picard or Temporal Investigations would try to fix whatever was changed. Picard might -- might -- say, "Who's to say which is better?" and let it slide... but TI seems particularly stringent.

    Nope.

StarTrek Timeline: ST, TNG, DSN, VOY + respective movies

    Non-canon: everything else.

I'm curious when the words "canon" and "lore" started getting capital letters at the beginning.

    Seems important to me.

    I go with four timelines...

    1. TOS, TAS, TMP
    2. Star Trek II thru Star Trek VI, TNG, DS9, VOY, TNG movies
    3. Enterprise (spun off of the events of First Contact), Discovery
    4. The Abrams films

I have no idea how productions I haven't seen yet fit in.

Partitioning them that way works for my brain. Everyone's mileage may vary.

How do you reconcile Seven of Nine knowing about the events of First Contact?

    Must just be me.

I just watch whatever film or show is on the screen and judge it on its' own individual merits.

If the Enterprise suddenly had seventeen rotating nacelles and Picard was a rhinoceros wearing a ballerina costume I'd probably raise an eyelid, don't get me wrong. However in terms of the more mundane pseudo continuity and inevitable errors inherent to best part of a thousand hours of material made over many years I'm happy to overlook a lot and let each episode or movie speak for itself. The setting is, for me, just that. It's a backdrop.

How would a member of the Borg Collective know in advance about a Borg adventure involving time travel?;)

Broad strokes are relatively the same, details are different across timelines. Much like we've seen it presented in "Parallels". But, I actually have First Contact taking place in the same timeline as Voyager. Its the events they take part in that creates a fork in the road in 2063.

I dunno. The next reboot will be a prequel before Kirk and feature Captain Al Bundy who has to report to Fleet Admiral Peg every week. We will also get big mysteries resolved as to why Starships from all the other eras lack bathrooms.

I saw the same thing for instructions. And when is the official literacy rate going to drop, as more and more people have to gawk at motion video, which takes more time to make than any book? Assuming people by then still know what a pause button is...

Also, some things in life are complex. A "TLDR society" is probably not a good thing?

A good thing may be to train people to come to a point in a concise way. Instead of prattling on for multiple paragraphs, just use a few sentances.

That YouTube video's creator uses a poop avatar, which is funny, because Patrick Stewart played the poop emoji in the Emoji Movi... Putain de merde!!!

Captain Picard started a YouTube Channel to definitively sort out the canon timelines! It's finally happening!

I bet there are actually four timelines, but they're trying to torture him into believing there are five.
