"You will never have a deeper sleep than curled up in a wookie's lap"

I enjoyed Solo. Some pacing issues towards the end aside I think it's a fun movie and one of the better SW films. The train sequence and kessel run are both excellent action sequences with some great FX. It's a shame it bombed at the box office.

It's one of the better stand alones, and I love revisting it. Put it above the PT and slightly above Rogue One.

I really enjoyed Solo, like you guys said it's just a fun adventure movie, with a great cast, and some cool effects/action scenes.
I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that we get a follow up with Qi'ra and Maul at some point.
If you're willing to read YA novels, then I'd recommend Most Wanted to anyone who wants to learn more about Han, Qi'ra, and their relationship, and see more of Corellia. I read it a few months ago, and I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed Solo. There were some really fun parts and it was interesting to see parts of the Star Wars universe that didn’t focus on the “elite or military” like the Jedi, Rebellion, or Resistance, but on normal people just trying to work their way through and around the system. Ok, they were criminals rather than the typical Star Wars universe resident, but you get my point.
I also liked learning new things about Han’s origin that happened very different than I always imagined, like his first meeting with Chewbacca.
No, it was not a perfect film. IMHO, it had some pacing issues, and I found it often too visually dark to see everything clearly on screen, but when you have nine movies in a franchise, each one can’t be the best one.

For a moment, I thought the post would have discussed Chewie eating anyone that dares take a nap there. Poor cats... Chewie is probably an evolutionary cousin to ALF...

The Maul revelation was still the best part of the movie. Given the behind the scenes problems in the making of the movie, it's legitimately unfortunate that these one-offs aren't going to continue. (Origin stories I'm lukewarm to at best because there's often nothing that needs to be told as it'd been told well enough already. Solo wasn't half-bad, but this branching out into Maul territory was a genuine stroke of brilliance, especially with Qi'ra. A sequel could explain his survival ("delayed gratification"), especially if the script set it up right but now I'm just fantasizing...

The only current movie I didn’t like was Rogue One.

It was okay but I never understood the love for it. There are a couple of jaw-dropiing scenes, but seeing Vader hyped up on Jolt cola slashing everyone then makes the immediate sequel, "A New Hope" seem grossly underwhelming as a result. This is where the continuity people (like me) raise not invalid concerns. Especially in a movie series that is ostensibly a continuing saga, with a big "Episode " chapter format and roman numerals and everything! :D Not sure what's more glaring, RO's issues or VII's as people reading a 12 chapter book would have griped that chapter VI was a lot like IV, then comes VII that's out of nowhere except it feels just like chapter IV with a bit of chapter V shoved in for no reason.

My issues aren't with canon and continuity. The characters and plot didn't really resonate with me, then they overloaded it with fan service. Essentially, I found it dull.

Though my wife loves it. It is her favorite Star Wars movie.
