there is no such thing as wintertime - it's the time we are supossed to have. we're back to normal - 0800 hrs is 0800 hrs again it used to be 0700 hrs before last sundayWe've switched to winter time a couple of days ago so the days are really short now.
i don't understand that. morning people could simply get up an hour early*. why force it on everybody else?
My apologies, but I'm not sure I understand what you are asking?
If you mean "why force permanent daylight time on everybody", then I would say:
So anything that gets rid of two terribles is good!
- Switching time twice a year is terrible
- The sun setting before 5:00pm in the winter is terrible

nope, there's just not enough light in winter to leave the house and come back without running through the dark at at least one end.
and btw, if i had a regulated work schedule (as a freelancer i don't) i'd prefer very much to leave the house when there is natural light. going out into the dark is kinda depressing.
but it's not about you and me - it's about the vast majority.
unfortunately the proponents of forever summer(time) are a rather loud bunch.
nix fia unguat (bavarian for no offense intented)
that's why i said time zones are a compromise to make a modern society possible. before 1893 we didn't even haven a single timezone in germany. after the war of 1870/71 the prussian military thought they could have performed (even) better with a unified timezone for the whole of the empire (since 1871). moltke especially wanted railway schedules to be improved.

When did chopped liver become the measuring standard of unimportant things?
all my family members (mom, brothers, daughters, cousins, nephews and nieces) love it but they insist on adding apples.I kind of like liver and onions, though we don't have it often.
I've been told that my breath smells like springtime and sunshine.People with bad breath and people who are cheated on have that in common that they are often the last ones to know. You can add tone-deaf people to that list.
Wise guy eh?
