Puplic people with names of our Trek Heroes

Kilana2

Vice Admiral
Admiral
I just did some research to find people with names of Trek characters....

I've found.....

Zan Sisko, basketball player, Slovenia

Dan O'Brien, former decathlete

Susanne Picard, author, translator, lecturer - translates German Star Trek novels........

Can you find more.....?

There was a Captain James Kirk in the US Navy. He was the commander of the USS Zumwalt. Currently he's an Admiral.

There's also an actor named James Kirk. He was in X2, She's the Man, and Final Destination 2, and I always thought he could have played a young David Duchovny.

There is an American journalist named Miles O'Brien. He specializes in science, technology and aerospace, which seems somehow appropriate.

So... it's just a matter of time before he tries to usurp command of the Zumwalt in a crisis, or maybe steal it to help his old first officer get home? Perhaps the navy should be keeping a close eye on him. :shifty:

If connecting names is allowed, which it probably isn't....
Anyone into Metallica?
James Hetfield - guitar & vocals
Kirk Hammett - lead guitar

:) :)
Something silly I noticed some time ago.

On Twitter a few months ago, I saw someone mention (in response to the observation that he'd be Generation Z (if you go by Cromwell's age and not what said in TOS)) there was a neighbor kid they knew named Zephram Cochrane whose parents did not know anything about Star Trek.

Also, not at all related to the topic, but I love it when Star Trek goes biblical to make names sound old-timey for people in their past who are still in our future. Balthazar Edison from Star Trek Beyond is another amazing example. As far as I'm concerned, all the U.S.-descended human characters on Enterprise should've had names that sounded like the casualty list from a Civil War battle. I suppose "Jackson Archer" wouldn't have been bad on that count, but they couldn't call him that, because there was exactly one person named "Jackson Archer" in the country and lawyers don't like it when fictional characters might be specifically tied to one real person.

Bubba Paris: Former NFL 49er olinemen. Helen of Troi: Resident of Themiscyra. Carolina Crusher: Popular Monster Truck from 80's and 90's. Jason

Geordi La Forge was named after George La Forge, a disabled Star Trek fan who died in 1975. I was concerned that this may have been not real or apocryphal (I know it's in the Encyclopedia), like the whole Kim Noonien Singh thing, but the name "George La Forge" appears as a character in the 1980 novel The Galactic Whirlpool, by David Gerrold.
