Things that frustrate us all

All the people I usually hang out with have been super busy with personal and work stuff the last few weeks so I’ve been lonely.

Last night, as hubby and I were doing our grocery shopping, I realized that the songs that were playing in the GROCERY STORE are on my MP3 player.

It hit me pretty hard when I first heard Queensrÿche on the local LightFM station and GnR on "classic" stations.

^same here. And after work I eat something and drop into bed. I just don't have the energy to go out and make new friends

Glad you're OK
a little brain damage doesn't really show when working at a state office  It might in fact aid promotion.

No, I have type O blood, which apparently is the mosquitoes preferred flavor.
I beg to differ. I, too, have 0 and most midges, mosquitoes and blackflies ignore me. A recent study found that flowery scents don't add to the attractivity of a victim but almost all bloodseeking insects focus on the carbondioxide concentration instead.
Since I was diagnosed with diabetes I get stung significantly more often. I suspect it is because I have a certain amount of ketones on my breath. I shall perform a few experiments next year (this year all bloodsuckers have died already and only harmless vegetarian species are around anymore)

I had fraudulent charges against my bank account today.

I’m getting the money back but had to open a new account. So I have to remember all the things with monthly charges against it and go in and change them.

Also, two of the check numbers were the same as the ones I gave my handyman, who is my mom’s friend. So now I have to contact him and ask if he is doing something like scanning in checks and then throwing them in the trash without shredding.

I had the perfect seat at the cinema. It wasn't too close to the screen, it was in the middle, and the volume was just right. Then... Someone's iPhone went off when the movie had already started.

Sinus headache so bad it becomes a migraine. Woke up with it. Taken meds, tried hot shower, water, caffeine, nasal spray. Nothing helps.

Ugh.

I hate those. Particularly because I also have chronic migraines handed down to me from my mom and her dad (thanks guys). Does sleeping it off help you at all? Sometimes when the medicine fails me, that's the only thing that will work.

When you get some clients new jobs and they are kicked out after a few days because of misbehaviour or lack of organizational skills. Or clients who sleep all the day in front of a computer and are sluggish in their reactions.

Sometimes I get sinus headaches really bad - but only when I fly, and even then, usually only when the plane is descending - not during takeoff or normal cruising altitude. I still don't get that.

I have a confession to make:

Whenever the Hall & Oates song "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" comes over my store's PA system, I dance around in the aisles. I even do an "air saxophone" solo.

Yeah, there's nothing worse than the death of hope is there?
Naah, hope just fainted for a bit. It'll recover. After all, other mothers have handsome children as well :) There's a choice of several million out there.

Jeez! That really sucks! I'm glad you noted it in time, before larger harm was done. Checks have been abolished in my country for decades - direct debit is so much safer and quicker. We mostly have problems with spyware on ATMs.

I got rather good results with applying a stripe of freshly cut lemon peel to the forehead. I came across this ancient remedy in a Georgette Heyer novel of all places and tried it last year when I had a bad sinus headache. Ever since, a fresh lemon is one of the basics in my medicine chest.

This week human stupidity seems to be in season. Yesterday, a woman caused a 6 hour operation of police and fire brigade by distributing sulphur around her house. Questioned by the police she told them that she intended to keep people from peeing against her house but failed to disclose how she imagined that might possibly work. On Monday, a woman told me about her concerns that someone might poison her drinking water (it's technically impossible, without using an excavator). She had such crazy ideas that I was utterly shocked. Not in my wildest dreams would I have imagined someone being so foolish. She didn't even listen to the radio or watch tv or read any papers - in all three media she'd have found info galore about Europe's most thoroughly protected comestible.
I wonder if she's identical with the sulfur-sprinkler.

I wish there was a way to inform your bank "Do not cash my checks unless somebody hands you a physical check, with my signature IN PEN. And if the name of the receiver is not in handwriting, call me first".

Now they have it so you can scan your check with your phone instead of bringing it to the bank. How is that not the stupidest, most insecure god damned thing in the world?

My autocorrect is super weird about what it thinks is supposed to be capitalized.

Like, it keeps capitalizing the word orange for me because I sometimes refer to The Orange Man.

And it thinks MARIO is an all caps word.

So my wife was really excited that "Horror of Dracula" was going to be on TCM last night at 8. Christopher LEE, Bitches!

Except... when we tuned in, my cable box said "you need a subscription to watch this."
"WTF? I said. "I HAVE a subscription to the Plus service that has TCM on it!"

Yeah, not anymore. Seems TCM wasn't pulling in the big bucks anymore (because hell, it's mostly watched by geeks and old people), so in its INFINITE wisdom, Comcast said "we gotta bundle this in a package that will make sure NOBODY watches it, but they still pay for it!"

So Turner Classic Movies is now bundled in... a SPORTS package.

Fuck you, Comcast..

Yeah, I tuned in earlier in the week to watch "The Uninvited," a great spooky old film, to find I no longer had the channel . Fucking bastards. I've been very happy with Comcast but we already pay a ton for entertainment and this nickel & diming is getting on my nerves.
