The obvious rising up theme. The populism angle when Bane was in charge of Gotham. And the conclusion and contradiction of the "you either die a hero or live to become the villain" concept.Which themes? I thought it could have been much shorter, unlike TDK. They isolated Wayne quite a bit in the middle, which made me impatient. A Batman movie with no actual ''Batmanning'' at the center.

Come on! Scorcese is a legitimate cinematic presence. Aniston? How many s***y RomComs has she done? I would go as far to say that she has never made a movie that has been memorable in a good way.
I don't disagree with the overall sentiment, but in fairness I have to say that 'The Iron Giant' and 'Bruce Almighty' rather leap to mind.
And if her point is merely that an over-dependence on green-screen shooting can be detrimental to certain parts of the industry (mostly those most dependent on the building of sets and shooting on location) then it's a fair point.
None of that undermines her point.
I guess some people aren't into movies like the Star War's movies.

Phil Tippet had a similar point regarding computers and effects. Perhaps he carries more weight here?
Oh yeah, I can see the complaint about an over reliance on green screen, it has taken away a lot of the really impressive live effects, like you say movies like The NeverEnding Story or the original Star Wars trilogy.
Honestly, I would have no problem with that happening. Like I said before, I usually go the movies for the spectacle, so if it's just a smaller drama or comedy, I usually just wait for streaming, or a digital rental. Occasionally, if it's something I really want to see, I will go see smaller movies, like the animated Addams Family movie I just saw this weekend, but that is pretty rare for me.
With movies getting more expensive, I'm only going to go when the experience in the theater is going to be better than watching it on a TV. I find with smaller movies like the kind Scoreses makes, the experience at home is just as enjoyable as the theater, but for the big spectacle movie, the big actions scenes really are a lot more impressive at the theater.
I hate to break it to him, but as long as the MCU movies and movies like them are continuing to fill up theaters, there's no way theater owners are going to stop showing them. If they are going to stop releasing any movies in theaters, it's going to be the kinds of movie people like Scorsese makes.

In the article it says that Scorsese wasn't able to get the money he needed to make The Irishman until he made the deal with Netflix, so yes, I believe you're right. And I think that's exactly why he made the comment he did about Marvel movies, because he's frustrated with the lack of backing he's getting compared to the blockbusters.
