More TOS engine room pics

I'd be very interested to see "The Cage" opening angle recreated with the offset bridge.
Aside from the relocated "nub" at the back of the Bridge it wouldn't look all that different; Pike is already offset in relation to the outer markings at the front of the bridge module (in the original FX)

Doing it more realistically like in TOS-R might not get much better results, because you would have to be so close to the dome to see anything inside that most of the exterior details are no longer in frame

If the scene could be filmed again, perhaps the camera should be angled more overhead of the actors? Granted that's not such an aesthetically pleasing shot though

Starship Exeter did the best job IMO.

Hi here are some renderings with the Pilot bridge inserted. I have been tweaking the materials for the Enterprise and at this moment trying to perfect the bussard lights, not an easy job for me as I know next to nothing about the unreal engine. I have used the standard mesh for the enterprise (smaller bridge dome).

I think its a shame that they didn't reconcile the interior with the exterior, if the extra piece at the top of dome is for the lift casing. My opinion is that it was done this way for easy filming. If you look at the examples in Mytran's post the Lift and the "nub" are not allied . pilot dome (5) by Ian Simpson, on Flickr

Thank you! That's really cool to see.

These bridge layouts are great. (Last picture: I don't think there are navigation lights on the side of the bridge in the Cage. Even in TOS, both lights were red.)

Those are really good and are fairly similar to what I was imagining in terms of viewing angles etc.

Also, those windows on the sides of the teardrop are just HUGE!!! :guffaw:

The lights both sides are the same colour thanks for that. as for the absence of lights I just used the Standard mesh for the exterior, this is smaller than the pilot dome too.

I would like to add the K7 space station (The trouble with the tribbles) to the scene but I have not had any luck in finding a diagram any ideas?

Now that you mention it yes. I will adjust them later.
Only if they're wrong!
I just meant to say that I hadn't realised how large they were in comparison to known objects (such as the chairs on the Bridge). From the outside, they look fine

A few fans have speculated they may be sensor arrays, instead.

Fair comment but I will check the plans anyhow.

I have spent the last 2 hours modelling the K7 station but the reference images are not that explicit, I have the TOS on Blu-ray and the original footage tells me less :(. I was wondering if anyone has come across there any Blueprints for this model?

Worth a quick look perhaps

There's always the DS9 episode, where they recreated the model

Thanks for the tip.
I never thought to look at that to spite it being my favourite DS9 episode. Is it my imagination or does the internal detail inside the bottom structure look like bridge style stations? I'll look at those plans tomorrow and make some changes to the start I made on it.

I have checked the drawings and I have made the "Windows" the correct size. To see how big they are I have put a chair on the deck for comparison.
