Ruminations:
This is it, my friends. This is the ultimate finale two parter, and then the actual series finale to end them all. What will come of it? What will we see? How will it all end? You might ask "three episodes?" and yes, there are, but the actual finale is in the first two episodes. This is where the penultimate moment happens between our heroes and the villains. The episode after these is the finale two-parter, and is more of a wrap up of everything involved in the series. So you get to see 3 episodes in total this Saturday.

This is it, 9 seasons of pony all wrapped up this week.

 

I’m so sad it’s ending, and I’m so sad I didn’t start watching it until last year. This show means so much to me.

I’m definitely doing a re-watch of season 2-7 and I want to start reading the comics because I need more ponies in my life. The comics will be continuing with season 10.

There is a special airing tomorrow called My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic: A Decade Of Pony.

 

Yep! I'll be taking up the comics, too. I'm trying to wait until they put them into some sort of anthology which would make it easier on me to follow along, but if not I'll still start getting them. I still need my pony fix!

The show means a lot to me, too. It has pulled me through some very dark times, and still does. Knowing that this is the end of the Gen 4 TV show is just heartbreaking.

 

The main comic series has four omnibuses so far, just so you know.

 

Yep, I found them all on Amazon! I put them in my cart and plan on getting them over time when I can. Hopefully, by the time they start with season 10, I'll be all caught up.

 

Season 10 comics start in April and the current season 5th omnibus comes out in January.

 

There’s also two new EQG specials: Spring Breakdown and Sunset’s Backstage Pass, and a FIM special: Rainbow Roadtrip which was pretty good. I haven’t seen the other yet.

 

I agree, Rainbow Roadtrip was terrific. Spring Breakdown was a lot of fun, and I have yet to see Backstage Pass.

Spreading distrust amongst the three tribes? Insidious! It's like we're taking a full circle back around to how it all began. Chrysalis being involved is no surprise, and this is actually a really good plan. I mean, if you can break down bonds of friendship, the Mane Six will lose their power, maybe? Still, good plan. Dastardly, even.

Holy crap! Cozy Glow has a horn! She's an alicorn!

Discord was Grogar!

Twily made Spike her royal advisor!

Pony racism rears its ugly head already.

Discord is now unveiling his plan, and hoo boy, it's a doozy. So it was he who brought back the villains, and now his plan has gone to *yay*.

Flutters broken heart is painful.

I'm loving John Delancie's last role as Discord here, it's hilarious if nothing else. That said, Discord's actions have shaken Twilight's confidence.

Still, she mobilizes everypony to protect Equestria and the frontier. I love Twilight.

Cozy Glow makes for an adorable evil chaotic Alicorn.

Best line so far: Spike to Discord: "Dude, read the room."

Holy cow! Cozy Glow showed up at the throne room and smacked down Twilight!

Yay! The Pillars of Equestria are involved! Unfortunately, Tirek dispatches them with ease and takes their power.

Uh oh, Chrysalis is about to attack Starlight at the school! Kick her ass, Starlight! Also, Starlight has some great one liners here.

Now we get to see what the Sisters can do to Cozy Glow.
Um... it's not good.

Fluttershy has new best line: "Fly my pretties!"

The three villains have Twilight and friends cornered, and friendship is on the brink of destruction as Twilight is forced to flee as her friends protect her escape! Looks bad!

Chrysalis has trapped everypony in cages, and Discord's in chains!

At least we know the villains infighting leaves an opening for exploitation.

Good thinking, Discord! Nice trick, also, yes, Tirek is a cretin.

They shot Starlight! You bastards!

Wow, the friction between the tribes is getting worse. The pegasi are blocking off Cloudsdale, and Ponyville is insular and angry.

Yay, Twiliy is safe in the Crystal Empire! Though her confidence has been shaken. It's okay, Twily, I love you.

The Windigoes are back!

It looks like everything is going back to before the three tribes united. It's wild!

Fortunately, our core Mane Six are still together, and giving each other the love and support they need. Oh, I'm not crying here. Not at all.

Flurry Heart is as adorable as ever.

"What are we going to do Twilight?!" "The same thing we always do, Pinkie. Try to save the world!"
Pinkie and the Brain reference here. This is the new best line in the show ever.

Epic battle begins.

Rarity has grown in her magic. Shields, teleportation, awesome!

Holy pickles! Dragons, and changelings, and yaks, oh my! YISSSS! Epic battle embiggens!

Yay, we get to see the Student Six, and they've been spreading the magic of friendship! It's helping! Woohoo! Oh, I love this so much! I mean, not crying! Not crying!

Oh pickles, shield's gone.

Yes, Twily, do it! Do it! YES! Do it!

A BILLION TONS OF RAINBOW LASER, BIATCHES!

Pinkie used Discord's magic from the bell! Oh Celestia yes!

All power has been restored to its proper place.

So the big three villains are turned to stone. Wow!

Celestia, Luna, and Discord bow to Twilight! *love*

Gallus is a guard? We're in the future! It looks like some time has passed since the last episode. Oh my goodness, look how wonderful they all are!

So from the opening we find out that yes, many years have passed. Oh wow, how are things now?

Ha! Lyra and BonBon are canon married! THEY'RE MARRIED! BEST FRIENDS!

I really liked how everything wrapped up except for two small things. Discord being the one to bring back all the villains so Twilight and co. could defeat them. It was really out there. Also Twilight becoming Princess-sized looked weird. I get why but it looked strange to me, same with Spike.

Things I loved... Everyone (and I do mean everyone!) coming together to save the day! Fluttershy and Discord being together!

I got teary during the last song. It was a beautiful send-off.

Also, were Rainbow Dash and Applejack together? Because it looked like it.

 

Some folks had issues with Twilight's appearance as more Celestia-like, but it made sense to me. That said, I'm used to Twily being Twily, so it took a little adjustment. I *do* believe Applejack and Rainbow Dash were together, and I will fight anything to the contrary with my last breath.

It was a beautiful send-off, and I had to go tell Big Jim and the others on Twitter just how much I loved the show, and their efforts to make it truly special for everyone.

 

There are some people that think Fluttershy and Discord are living together as friends too and I’m like they are MARRIED! FLUTTERCORD FOREVER.

 

Yeah, they're a married couple as far as I'm concerned. You don't stay that long with someone unless you have serious feelings for them, and Discord clearly loves Flutters, without a doubt in my mind.

 

It seems that way. I mean, decades have passed, and Twilight looks as young as ever, while her friends are already starting to show signs of age.

 

The moment Pinkie Pie had chaos magic, I wondered if maybe that was the true ending of Equestria.

 

Wait. When does Pinkie have chaos magic? Also, while Twilight will outlive the others so will Discord. So I imagine he and Twilight can hang out every now and then, and visit Celestia and Luna.

How old are the Mane Six supposed to be in the series anyway?
