Mysterious TWOK Quote from Offscreen - What was said?

Just after the Kobayashi Maru simulation ends, Admiral Kirk says "The Klingons don't take prisoners. Lights." The lights turn on, and we hear someone offscreen say something. I never could make out what was said, but for anyone who plays video games, it sounds to me like he is saying "Morthal", which is a city in "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim". Since that can't possibly be what he is saying, what IS he saying? LOL

For reference, here is the clip. The mystery line is spoken at roughly the 3:14 mark.

I think it's "Blowers on," since you can hear the ventilation fans go on a second later. Chakoteya's transcript says "Motors on," but that doesn't make sense to me.

It's not in the screenplay, by the way, so it must've been a bit of stage business worked out in shooting.

No, that wouldn't happen. Dialog on a movie set has to be recorded "clean," no other noises. Not footsteps, not doors creaking, and someone yelling during a take would be an instant cut (unless it was, like, a dialog-free action scene or something and none of the sound was going to be used). Have you ever heard the recording of Christain Bale having an episode because someone moved in his sightline during a take and distracted him? It'd be like that, but worse.

Likewise, it probably wasn't added on set, but after-the-fact, during editing, along with all the other background dialog (like the off-screen characters going down the launch checklist when Kirk and McCoy first arrive on the bridge).

No, it was probably intentional. Nicholas Meyer wanted things to be manual and low-tech in his version of the future, so it makes sense that he would've wanted to establish that some guy ordered the activation of the ventilation fans to clear the smoke from the simulator. Plus the audio is way too clear and has the same echo as the "Maintenance crew report to bridge simulator" a few moments later, and it has the polished sound of an actor's line reading.

Anyway, it's in the film's closed captioning script as "Blowers on." You could probably have just tried turning on subtitles on your DVD.

It's also motors (or engines) on in the German version. It's a simulator room with Academy people all around, and they had to clean up for the next group of cadets, I guess.

The room was filled with smoke from the explosions. Naturally they had to vent that out right away. Cleanup could come later; first you have to make sure the current occupants can breathe.

It's almost definitely "blowers on." I have a really good sound system and you can hear it clear as day.

Back in the old days watching it on HBO on the 19 inch RCA TV....it wasn't as clear!

Huh, I always figured it was Scotty shouting "power's on!" or something.

I haven't watched that specific scene in years, though. Never could bring myself to watch it!
