Raise your hand if you believe that Rian is still actually making a trilogy (considering he just came out and said he is still waiting for Lucasfilm to tell him)? I mean I told you guys all along that it was not happening

I believe it's not happening when I get the announcement. Until then I think it will happen in some form.

But, please, take those victory points on the Internet :D

    Rian's exact quote is:
My opinion on this, to steal a quote a certain Jedi Master:
Which is what I've been saying for awhile. No reason to be concerned or gloat until there's an actual reason to be concerned or gloat. I mean, at the end of the day: its only a movie. No skin off my teeth one way or another. But you do you.

Yeah but he DID say in the past that they were working on it.. he is a liar.. Why can't you all see that. just like he lied about the scar.

I mean seriously though.. no excuse to be naive. The trilogy was announced before TLJ came out. Now he is the ONLY one talking about it AND he seems to express doubt that it will despite the fact that he has said he is working on it.

What scar? What are you even talking about?

    Here we go again....

What honestly does it matter? You keep suggesting that whether or not Johnson's trilogy is made or not means some sort of a big thing to the majority of us. It doesn't. That's what @Dry Bones 37 and I keep saying. You keep pushing this narrative that it being canceled make some judgment on Johnson or those who enjoyed TLJ. Let me put this as succinctly as I can: I don't care if his trilogy gets produced or not. Why? Because its just a movie. It will not affect my greater world view. It will have no effect on my enjoyment of any Star Wars. I will continue to enjoy Star Wars in whatever form I can as long as I'm entertained by it. When its not, I won't. Period. Me enjoying Star Wars as it exists now does not make me naive. It makes me have a different opinion than yours. And that is okay.

it's just that everyone fought me tooth and nail when I said that this is exactly what we'd get.. that his trilogy ain't happening and we'd be getting the runaround we got.

Everyone? I never thought his trilogy was going to happen. Which is too bad, TLJ is great.

This is a bad post. We are on a message board discussing movies. "It's just a movie" is a worthless argument. It's not just a movie to most of us or we wouldn't be on here discussing it for 80 pages.

BTW I too got flamed for saying that the Johnson trilogy will not happen, even though it was obvious that it wouldn't. Why would it? Even if TLJ was actually a good movie (and I think it was), the controversy it stirred up means there is no reason that Disney should triple down on it. That's just not how Disney operates.

    What about Kylo's scar?

For many pages I've said at the end of the day I didn't think the trilogy would ultimately happen. But I was going to wait to see for sure. And you know what? I still am going to wait. And I still don't think it will happen. It just doesn't matter to me personally if it gets produced or not.

It is just a movie. It doesn't matter. Does it tremendously affect your life if the Rian Johnson Star Wars Trilogy gets made or not? It sure as hell doesn't affect mine. It doesn't affect my family or my livelihood or anything else outside of how I choose to waste my time outside of the things that actually do matter. So, yeah, to me, it is just a movie. You can choose to feel differently.

So we are only allowed to care about things that are profoundly important? We can't care about things we just enjoy as entertainment? Yet here you are on a Star Trek message board?

Man. gtfo with the condescending hypocrisy. This is basically a nerd bullying other nerds for being more nerdy than him.

When people said that kylo's scar was in a different spot, Rian said it was not. Some time later, fans showed photos to prove it. He then said "oh it's no big deal.. originally it looked stupid"

That's fine, but it shows he will lie if needed

Yes. I am here at a Star Trek message board. And honestly? I'm bored at work today. That's why I'm posting. And I said you can choose to feel differently. I'm stating MY VIEW. At the end of the day TO ME, the movies, this place, they are all just things here to entertain and distract. I get passionate sometimes and I apologize for that and it comes off condescending. Mea culpa! However, I don't understand why FSM has seemingly made it his goal in life to prove that Disney Star Wars is this terrible terrible thing. Why does it matter? Why can't people disagree with him? Why do we keep having to go back to the well on this thing? At the end of the day, he can hate it. I don't care. But it keeps going on and on and on. And maybe I need to step away from this conversation. I'll own that. I'll admit I have a hard time with that sometimes.

You two are both having the same hard time stepping away from the conversation. I am calling both of you out.

And to the original point that brought me into this, movies don't have to be life and death important to be discussed. Maybe we are all just bored and killing a few minutes on a message board about a fluff-filled sci-fi show.

Despite the insistence upon accusing of naivete is has nothing to do with that. I truly don't see why this is an issue. If it happens, great. I'm always down for more Star Wars, even if it isn't my cup of tea (looking at you Clone Wars). If it doesn't happen, no harm no foul. It's a zero-sum game.

Johnson can say all he wants. I'll believe that it isn't happening when there is an official word. I'm not going to buy into rumor and hearsay. People will believe what they want. I'd rather discuss what is, rather than what may or may not be.

at this point Disney would give real money if Rian would shut his trap about SW
