Note that a 20th Century human describes the replicator's martini as the "best" he's ever had. And he would never have had replicated food before.
I think it's partially nostalgia etc, watched star trek for decades it's always been a constant in my life, hope optimism etc even in the dark days of the DS9 and the Dominion war the Fed was always there. Yes there have been down times but this has an end feeling to it...a finality to what has gone before...maybe I'm reading too much into itWhy is that? One, the future is malleable, as demonstrated by a bunch of time travel stories. Two, is it reasonable to expect the Federation to endure perfectly for 1000 years? Political powers will struggle with difficulties, and not just wars or threats of war. They will struggle with things differing points of view, management of resources, and solving problems.
Perhaps I am more cynical but I am wondering if expecting this Federation to survive intact for 1000 years to be reasonable?
But when every martini he has tastes exactly the same, I'll bet he goes back to thinking hand mixed is better.
Well, Gene Roddenberry would be proud. That and it feels like they have lifted parts of this from Andromada...
Also DSC season 2’s CG is better than anything ENT did.
It's another Trek Classic moment ...I've changed my mind on the dead guy Seven is cradling in the trailer. I don't think it's Hugh. The guy in question seems to have curly hair, and Hugh very clearly has straight hair later in the trailer.
I don't think it's Icheb either though. I'm not sure who it is really.

I disagree, they look nothing like STO's shine.Thats one opinion, While true some of the effects are better, planets, nebula etc. Ships are to dark and look fake, like a ST Online ship shine.. Some ships look good, like the Shenzou, but the Disco and Enterprise look like crap (Not design wise.. just what appears on screen)

He a Random Red Shirt.

Of course it isn't final. Compare the DSC Season 2 trailers to their aired versions, they changed.hope that its not a final shot.
No, that's USS Discovery, thus very far from beautiful. But in this instance darkness is certainly an improvement, less you can see of that ship the better.I disagree, they look nothing like STO's shine.
And being dark is realistic, depending on where they are in space.
This looks beautiful

While it could be a red shirt, the Romulan prisoners and Androids are all wearing red jumpsuits, so I think it's more likely just a former drone. I'm definitely getting a freedom fighter/liberator vibe from Seven (after all, she says she helps people who don't have anyone else to help them), so I can see her being emotional over losing someone she was trying to save. They're wearing a red command uniform from the looks of it.
The efficacy of the replicator changed over time. In the first few seasons of TNG, it was meant to be a miracle invention that created perfect, delicious food 100% of the time.
