Still not sure what to make of the uniforms as Pike said they were brand new in 2257.

It's clear that the Cage bridge is somehow supposed to be the Disco-Enterprise bridge all along. For visual effects purists like myself, I'm telling myself now that the Cage bridge (also seen in Where No Man Has Gone Before), is the Battle Bridge (used in the aftermath of the battle of Rigel VII and also when exploring the Galactic Barrier) and the main bridge is the Disco-Enterprise bridge. The Disco-Enterprise bridge then gets refitted into the TOS bridge in 2265.

Isn't that kind of at odds with the opening shot of The Cage zooming in on the exterior of the Enterprise's bridge dome and we "peak in" on the bridge?

Anyone else having trouble? I'm getting a playback error on All-Access.* Waited for my wife to get home to watch this. Finally use the damn service after paying for it for months waiting for the Short Treks and it doesn't fucking work. :scream:

*First world problems...

According to the end credits, Michael Giacchino was the supervising composer on this one. That explains some of the ST09 sounding music.

I noticed that there was something different about the music, but I could not point my finger at it. Personally I really liked the music.

Personally I loved the Short.

Someone here will be squealing in delight at this one.

Wait a minute. Space/CTV Sci-Fi didn't get it yet?

It was on their "Go" app (or whatever they call it now). I watched it there a few hours ago.

Not sure if this one is actually going to air on the channel. Their website seems to indicate that the first one to air on television will be "The Trouble with Edward" this Thursday.

Ha! I love that nearly every forum on the internet has a Ricky Spanish on it. I was doing that as well with some of his other personas.

Hmm, I just watched the Cage again and noticed that the bridge shot is out of proportion with the Enterprise dome. So that whole shot could be written off as artistic license or Talosian illusion.

So... I maintain the Cage bridge is the Enterprise's Battle Bridge while the Disco-Ent Bridge is the "true" bridge until the 2265 refit.

Next, we have to explain the Cage/Where No Man Has Gone Before uniforms. I'll maintain that these are Starfleet dress uniforms that the crew was still wearing for a formal event just preceding these episodes.

The Disco-Ent uniforms are the "true" Starfleet uniforms for Constitution class vessels from 2254-2265. When Pike says that his uniform is "new" in 2257, he's hinting that the Constitution uniforms will soon become fleetwide. These uniforms change to the TOS uniforms in 2265 after WNMHGB.

There, it's all fixed. ;)

Someone help! I read the new Spock Short Trek "Q&A" is up but i don't see it in my list of available episodes (I am subscribed to CBS AA).. Thanks!
Click on the SHOWS link at the top then click on ORIGINALS (again at the top) then on the TREK SHORT TREKS banner all the way to the right.
It should be the very first episode on the left when that last page opens.

In case it helps anyone else, the episode still throws an error on the mobile app, even after clearing my cache, but does work on my laptop. If you're having trouble on one platform, try another.

That was fantastic. Calypso will be the best in this format but wow. Excellent character moments packed into 14 minutes.

I can’t believe we get short treks and then 3 original seasons in 2020. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine this. Bring it on!
