I hope they found a new character for Mary Chieffo to play, so they can keep her in Discovery.
Even if Section 31 takes place in the 23rd Century, L'Rell can't keep her position forever. The constant threat of war needs to come back in time for TOS and I don't see that happening with L'Rell in charge.
Of all the tech Discovery added, I'm surprised they didn't add video feeds to to the Tricorder or something, it would be a lot easier for the captain to know what was going on during an away mission if they had a video feed.
Your posts are not making any sense again. They should have. If they're going to be less than faithful to continuity, deliberately, then they should go all the way. As if it would make a difference, they'd later backtrack with embarrassing dialogue that the hapless actors have to recite. Thankfully most of them aren't the most dedicated fans.
Scientific liberty is one thing (all sci-if has done it to varying extents, even TOS but thankfully it had the lunacy of the 1960s as partial defense when it came to giant space amoeba and gangster planet and the rest) but established canon does become its own legitimate issue. Why not bring in Darth Vader and Daffy Duck to complete the ensemble... actually, that I might actually see. There is a legitimate line when it comes to prequels and making them fit in with something already imprinted on audiences, which generally (but not always) are the main target for expanding into something such as a prequel. (It's another reason their moving the show forward might work. Heck, I enjoy Space 1999 and its premise is as laughably bad as anything could get. But something else made up for it as S1999 is actually underrated, and it sure as heck wasn't inane incessant pandering fanservice to compel viewers' interest.)
The classic series had that. Remember the one where The trio went back to Earth in the past to stop McCoy changing history? That recorder had video feed on it from recording the history passing by on the time knot.Of all the tech Discovery added, I'm surprised they didn't add video feeds to to the Tricorder or something, it would be a lot easier for the captain to know what was going on during an away mission if they had a video feed.
I meant transmitting a live video feed to the ship, that just seemed to be a recorder. The classic series had that. It should be noted that the FASA stuff is not canon and also the source of Alec Peters' take on Axanar.![]()
I love Gerry Anderson stuff!! The fabulous Thunderbirds! They should have. If they're going to be less than faithful to continuity, deliberately, then they should go all the way. SFDebris started his Season 2 reviews last month, I just noticed now. So far he only has Episode 1 done.
