Does anyone else think that CBS waiting until now to go after him again was deliberate? That they wanted to give him enough rope to hang himself, and he eagerly tied that rope around his own neck (and those clueless enough to stick with him).
Ohhhhhhhhh yeah.

I was just about to ask the same thing. My first reaction was "finally... CBS is paying attention to what he's been doing!" but then I started thinking that there probably is no point to taking action while he's still kicking the film reel can down the road and that they waited until filming supposedly was about to start. I want something to come out of this mainly for the sake of backers (while I enjoyed prelude, I fortunately didn't get into fan films until months after the main axanar crowdfunding had ended so didn't lose any money on the endeavor).

and among the usual "CBS is picking on Alex because he's making better Trek than they are" responses are these gems...
  • Kevin Emexfive You were thrown a meagre bone by CBS when they allowed you to continue, yet you push, and push, and push them at every turn.
Accept what you were given, stop pushing the boundaries and get the god damn thing done already. I am beginning to think my life will be over before this thing even sees the light of day.

Hey where are my rewards, have tried reaching out to you multiple times, a flat waste of 100 bucks. Your such a scam and a rip off to the trek community.

  • Bobb Beauchamp
You agreed to not use crowdfunding. Then used Patreon and tried to lawyer your way around the agreement. You have cost the Trek community far too much because of your own hubris.
I wonder how long before they're deleted?

God willing, CBS will *finally* shut him and his Axalytes up.

When you've received 8 letters from an entertainment law firm telling you to stop doing something, you should probably stop.
Yeah, that tells it all doesn't it. The fact that they'd willingly admit it shows how disconnected from reality they are. He got lucky last time with his pro bono legal team and the settlement offer. I can't imagine that happening twice.

It also just shows that CBS have been monitoring everything Alec's been up to, trying to get him to step away from the precipice. I imagine, given he's fought them in court before, they were trying to avoid another costly legal action, but he just had to keep poking the bear.

I wonder how long this time until people jump ship. Will Paul Jenkins stay on the project if CBS is bringing its lawyers down on them?

I don't think it will ultimately matter if people jump ship. Once a grifter, always a grifter - LFIM will move on to some other money making scheme if he has to. He may not have much luck, but you can bet he'd still be running his mouth.

To truly shut him up, CBS is really going to have to milk him dry and/or get him thrown in jail.

From a live stream last night looks like the fundraiser starts today.

So I propose a new game for the group - count the settlement violations. :-)

With his current I don't care what CBS thinks there is almost zero chance he doesn't go way way way beyond what he is supposed to. Lane has already said he's going to publcally fundraise for alec since alec can't (*cough* spirit of the settlement *cough*).

Don't drink alcohol or eat a slice of pie as a part of the game. Don't want anyone getting alkyhol poisoning or gaining weight due to the festivities.
