Wondering about the Premiere Date for PIC

I had a thought. How many issues is IDW's Countdown supposed to be? I think during the month the final issue is released or the month after, that might be when Picard will premiere.

Countdown to Picard is three issues long, meaning the series will last from November to January. Also of note, the Picard tie-in prose novel from Pocket Books is due out early February, so we're definitely looking at a planned winter premiere.

Pure speculation on my part, I'm kind of expecting the premiere on January 17. Since CBS promoted that day as Enterprise Day in 2019 and marked the occasion with the season 2 premiere of Disco, I can easily see them celebrating Enterprise Day 2020 with the premiere of Picard.

1/17 was a Thursday this year, next year it is a Friday. I am more expecting them to release on a Thursday as that has been the day for new eps. The novel launches 2/11/20. I was thinking they would get that out first so fans who care about novels could consume that prior to the show and some who typically don't would get it due to the hype. If they go that route then maybe it airs on 2/20/20.

They could be corny, Drop episode one on 2/14 and market the whole thing as a valentine to trek fans.

"A valentine to Trek Fans" and "We are very pleased" immediately raise Red Flags in the back of my mind, as soon as I see them. Throw in "The best since Khan!" to round it out.

Well Nemesis was the last Picard story on screen and it was billed as TNG's TWoK. Why not continue with the bullshit?

Seriously though, does anyone on the forums understand how marketing tie in comics/novels works who can legitimately predict some dates based on historical data? The ST 2009 Countdown finished in April. The movie dropped May 8th. The novelization, which is not the same as this Picard book came a month later.

I just re-watched Nemesis & Insurrection and found them both to be flawed but watchable. Certainly not horrible by any means. Possibly better than Generations.

I gotta disagree. Generations had a better storyline, better cinematography and better acting than INS and NEM. I also love the Denis McCarthy score which still sits in my old cd shelf.

If they are clever, they are not going to address anything of what happened in the last TNG movies. Especially Nemesis ridiculed the main crew in favor of an out of character script...

Only for Disco season 2, season 1 of Disco aired on Sunday. True, last year's Short Treks also aired on Thursday, but I suspect that was because season 2 of Disco was planned for Thursday. Maybe when we get dates for the next batch of Short Treks, we can infer from what day of the week they air on.

If anything, the novel's release will be after the premiere. The Disco novel Desperate Hours was released the Tuesday following its premiere, and indeed had been previously scheduled the Tuesday following the previous two planned premiere dates. So if anything, the novel's release date indicates February 11 would be the first Tuesday following the premiere, meaning we can expect the premiere anywhere between February 5-10.

Too late. The trailer already addressed Data’s Death(?)
