Pretty good. Although, I'm only 15 episodes in lol.

Captain Kirk is so handsome! I had no idea. It's a struggle to watch because of him sometimes lol.

Makes total sense to me, and I could have sworn I replied to this, but apparently I did not until now.

Cool! TOS, like every show, has some duds. Let us know what you think of "Spock's Brain"

    No worries.

  4. Hello there! Any advice on finding people in your local area that like Trek? I can't seem to find any...

    Greetings!
Most of the Trek fans I've met in my local area I've met at comic shops. That could be a good place to start.

You might also want to look at your local library. If they have any sci-fi related programs open to the public, there will often be Star Trek fans in the mix. Also game shops, especially with a new Trek tabletop RPG out.

TOS is easily my favourite series. Of course, I'm a big fan of TNG and all the other series, but there's something about that sixties cheesiness that has me coming back to TOS every time.

    Hope you slackers are ready......

I watched all 79 TOS shows, as first run shows, in black & white.
Heck did not know there were red shirts until 1973.

I played Starfleet Battles for longer than some of you have been alive.
The name I have here is my Dragonfest Commander's name, from the regional SFB tournaments way back when. Just in case some being stuffed themselves in a transporter beam. (Seattle).

As far as the lore goes, I do TOS & Enterprise shows. Ive seen all the others (except Kelvin timeline shows). I have favorite episodes per each Trek show. (all the TOS & ENT shows).

The Kelvin timeline does not exist. Just a way for J.J. to mess up Trek like he did to every other thing he has touched. <-- Hows that for a personal opinion.
I will never post in those forums, they are dead Jim.....

The reason I beamed in was that yesterday I found a DD mini, so I check into it, and
just bought a brand new (70s vintage) destroyer and decals.
Only getting one for my desk, had the whole collection in the 70s, but a Romulan with ale bought them all.

Oh yes. I fly the light bulb. The ship that does not really exist according to some.

Just dont tell the boneheads and Romies, I love to surprise them.

This might as well be my first post!
I almost get enough Trek via Youtube or Twitter but I figured it might be a good idea to join a forum. Haven't been on a forum for AGES!

Well, I'm an IT guy, like video games, watch Sci-Fi movies but oddly .. I'm no collector.

Wondering how to actually get an Alias here like most people I see? Maybe that comes with time, ya?

I'll look around and see what's going on.

I can't find the Live Long and Prosper emoji? LLoP

    Welcome James!
I think I set mine up when I registered. I'd bet there's a way to change it though, not sure if you can do that yourself or have to request it from the Admins.
Good luck and again welcome to the forums!

    Greetings.
I used to be a member here (a lurker, really) a long time ago, but I've forgotten my log-in information so, here I am again:beer:.
I'm mainly interested in TNG and DS9. TOS was way before my time and while, yes, parts of it are goofy, SFX are cheesy, and scenery-chewing is rampant, I have to admit I still find it enjoyable, in part because of those "negative" aspects. Voyager leaves me completely indifferent even though it features one of my all-time favorite Trek characters. In case you're wondering, I'm talking about the EMH. Voyager is all about the EMH for me, with other characters serving as mostly unremarkable filler. I very much enjoy all of the TOS movies (with the exception of The Search For Spock) and I prefer them to the TNG movies, which I've still seen an embarrassing number of times . I've only seen the first two Kelvin timeline movies and...um, yeah. I've given Enterprise several chances and while I do like most of the characters, most notably Dr. Phlox, and some of the episodes, it's just not clicking with me at all. I haven't seen Discovery yet but only because I can't afford subscriptions to multiple streaming services (poverty Highlander). That will definitely change when Picard is released and I temporarily cancel Netflix in favor of CBS AA. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to Picard. Hi.
