In my dream, the kids were supposed to be back at school. They’d already missed one day, and were missing another because we couldn’t remember where they were. I was starting to worry but then I saw that they were playing on the street with other children.

Relieved that the children weren’t missing I decided to take care of the recycling. As I was getting in to the car, a black Landrover pulled up and five lads jumped out. They wanted to sell me a loft conversation for £250k, I told them that the house wouldn’t sell for half that, even with the conversion. It’s not a hotspot. They agreed and we all went on our way.

That might be one of those dreams that could come true. I once had a fdream where a young friend and I were sitting on a curb--and an old timey car--pulled around the corner.

Some time later--that exact scenario played out

Last nights dream was more surreal. I walked in to town to meet some friends for a drink, but it was awkward for me because I was carrying two duvets. I made it to the bar though, among a group of old acquaintances from long ago jobs. At the bar was an old friend I haven’t seen in years because he moved abroad. I took a while to find a drink I wanted as the beers were all high alcohol content, about 8%, and I prefer less than 4%. I did settle on a beer though but was surprised when my friend didn’t offer to pay for it. Not because I’m a free loader, but we just always drank in rounds.

After that beer I decided to take my duvets home and return for more drinks, but I couldn’t get home because the streets were being dug up and bridges had huge gaps, I couldn't work out how the diverted paths worked.

Last night I dreamed that I had books to return to the library, so I took them to an unfamiliar library and dropped the books through the slot and turned to look for some new books to check out. I started climbing stairs and looking into different extremely dusty rooms on various levels. There were many different pieces of old furniture in very dim and dusty rooms on different levels, but no books. No bookshelves. After awhile I stopped climbing stairs and wondered what kind of library this was. Then I woke up.

I had a dream that I got up early and it was a bright sunny day with very few clouds in the sky. So I took my motorcycle out for a scenic drive in some remote coastal area. (I don't actually have a motorcycle)

I have a recurring dreamscape that has been evolving pretty much all of my life. For the most part, it's really cool and I love remembering dreams from there. What I didn't love was waking up one time so convinced that it was real that I was about to go jump in the car to go drive to one of the neighborhoods. I was halfway dressed before I realized where I wanted to go only existed in my head. That was actually very disconcerting. Editing to add that I was fully awake and not under the influence. It was just my brain deciding to put a crack in my reality.

I have a lovely landscape of dreams. One huge bazaar atop a hill that fronts as a big box store--where I emerged as Batman somehow. A (nearby?) place of work where I know everyone and they know me--but doesn't exist. A series of shops along US 11 that goes on for farther than the highway itself.

A bright underground lake filled with trees and grass right up to the waterline.

    So many bookstores/hobby shops.

One of the first near what I gather was Roebuck, AL, others, farther off on I-20....They don't exist--but I never checked. Sometimes I wonder if I got in my car--I might find them one day.

I had a dream last night where my girlfriend was being duplicitous and secretive
In the dream, I have severe bouts of jealousy and she seems to flirt with other men, it's a regular of mine.

Also I regularly dream of gatherings or situations where deceased friends, acquaintances or loved ones are in the room, fully alive and well, even though in the dream I'm fully aware that they have passed and no one but me seems to notice, or question their being there.

I had a dream about a train crashing outside the house. In the dream I was also visiting an abandoned tunnel out in the sticks. The details are faded now.

I had horribly apocalyptic dreams of natural disasters all night. The worst part of the dreams was that my friends were having panic attacks and worrying about where they'd go with their children, and I was completely unable to help them. That's what I get for reading depressing dystopian fiction right before bed after a stressful work day. Will not be doing that again.

I had a nightmare where my father came back from the dead, in a mostly-alive-but-still-undead state. But since the "rules of death" state that balance must be maintained, someone else had to die for my dad to return to a fully-alive state. Someone with their life still ahead of them.

So that's how I ended up in a physical fight with my undead father by getting between him and a little girl I didn't know.

Usually I'm all about the monster-killing, but yeah, that wasn't fun.

I dreamed the other night that someone was changing my socks. I hope that's not a prelude to the nursing home.

That must have been creepy but it might make an interesting short story or something.

I'm just going to tell you. I almost never have nightmares, but on the odd occasion that I do... I don't mind them so much. You're scared, on alert, maybe running or whatever. You are engaged in a positive way, from your perspective, which is all that really matters... your perspective.

However, the dreaming I find much worse, like last night, are the ones where I'm not scared, but angry. I was at work, everybody else was slacking off, & things were in a bad way, and I was the only one doing anything about it, & I was furious with everyone. I literally woke up in a bad mood, that took an hour to shake.

That's not cool. It's hardly ever happened, & I'm hoping it doesn't again for a long time. I wonder if it was something I ate yesterday or what. Need to avoid that shit lol

I've had a series of dreams lately but don't recall a lot of the details.

One night I dreamed a group of hostile armed men were trying to break into our house. The dream soon became a dystopian nightmare where non-Caucasians were being rounded up, so I was scared for my life.

Sorry you're dreaming my life. lol

On a more serious note, I hate nightmares like that, too. They're so banal and yet they wind up having a way bigger effect on your mood once you wake up.

I had a bizarre dream that we had a regular library patron who had a fish in her brain that was slowly eating away at it from the inside out. Her brain was like a bowl with water and the fish in it, and every day we had to do a little more and a little more to help her function, but for some reason it never occurred to anyone to take out the fish.

You should have driven "there" anyway. Who knows what you may have found. I used to sleepwalk. I wonder where I was going.

Now, there have been times where I swear it felt like I was hoving over the bed, and I reach down as it feels I fall such that the bed shakes. At other times, I have heard a flapping noise just to one side of the room...

From what I understand, those are typically manifestations of sleep paralysis. It's a pretty fascinating subject. There are lots of good articles about it. I was a sleepwalker as a child. It hasn't happened to me since my early teens, though.

The other night, I dreamed I was in an unfamiliar crowded area when a tsunami hit. The strange thing was that the massive wave that hit us wasn't very strong. I heard someone say that if everyone got behind a metal crate, they wouldn't be swept away by the water, and surely enough, that was the case. I'm pretty sure that's not how tsunamis work in real life.
