I can't take this show seriously at all based upon the (admittedly nice) trailer.

I mean, you have a post-apocalyptic society of entirely blind people. Not only do they somehow manage to survive, they:

    1. Have physical adornment, including clothing with colors and facepaint.
    2. Ride horses.
    3. Go into battle, not just with melee weapons, but with bows and arrows.
    4. Climb mountains
    5. Sail ships.

Unless there is some ESP-like power they have access to, all of this is patently ridiculous.

Oh well, never gonna have Apple TV+ anyway.

The preview briefly shows the sighted kids as young adults, reading books, and I'm pretty sure the archer is the girl. They could also be the ones sailing the ship.

Overall, though, I agree this looks lame and dull, though handsomely produced. "Hm, what can we film in the woods of the Canadian Pacific Northwest to maximize our tax breaks? It's gotta be sci-fi or some kind of dystopian future, however, because historical stuff rarely sells. And we'll need a high-concept gimmick, obviously."

"How about, hundreds of years in the future of Oregon/Washington State, only two people can see?"

    "Perfect!"

"These children... have the ability... to see..."

    Oh, Mamoa...

Pass. Sounds like a bad fantasy novel.

Meh, I usually like this kind of stuff but it really does look like the same old same old, and the whole only the two kids can see thing just seems ridiculous.

This is from the same people who brought you the Hunger Game movies.

I'm getting tired of seeing Momoa play feral Alpha males. It's like the only role he takes. Let's see him play a lawyer or airline pilot lol

    That explains a lot.

Because when I think of Momoa, I think, there's an actor with range.

    lol

The production value and design is good. That said, the execution is ridiculous.

    - IF 'sight' is no considered magical/evil, WHY are there lit candles in teh 'Blind' gathering places...a fire for warmth I could see (pun included) ;) - but candles.:wtf:

    - If it's been this way for centuries how the hell did fully blind people manage to build small bridges with rope-way guides?

    - Like others have mentioned, if no one can see, how is it they still have nicely colored items, various Headdresses, and their clothes are also somewhat color coordinated?:rommie:

Like others a 'pass' from me.

Tough crowd, tough crowd! But, maybe us nerds would like a flipping sweet drama about The Today Show, basically?

It's like Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, only without the jokes! Who doesn't love that?! You don't want to be left out of the cool kids' Apple+ conversation, now, do you?!

Actually, I'm interested in The Morning Show. Great cast. Potentially interesting story. Why wouldn't I love it?

At least it's not a mess like See.
It's not enough for me to get Apple TV... but, still. Looks like quality TV.

If Aaron Sorkin can't get me interested in a fiction show about a "serious" news program, I'm certainly not likely to be interested in a fiction show about a broadcast morning talk show, the sort which only do serious reporting... hm... well, never, that I'm aware of.

Yeah, but Aaron Sorkin is a terrible writer.

And, I’m cool with you not being interested. I said I was. I an disagreeing with you implied idea that no one would be interested in The Morning Show.

It's seems to be more about the characters and their personal drama not the story of the week like The Newsroom which was also written terribly.

There's no way I'll get Apple+ but this show at least looks like it could be interesting.

But See? Complete trash, the premise is stupid, the production design SUCKS (did anyone involved even think about what everyone being blind would mean?), it makes no sense.

There's a fairly in depth article about The Morning Show on Entertainment Weekly, and apparently a big part of it is also going to a fictional take on what happened with Matt Lauer, with Steve Carell as the Lauer character.

If it was on a channel I already had, I would give the show a try.

Yeah, that's part of my wariness - that, in order to further cast the Lauer character as the villain (which Lauer totally was), the show, going by the preview, will almost certainly make heroes out of the other hosts, who in reality get tens of millions of dollars to sit on their asses, smile, and make chit-chat with celebrity guests in as inoffensive a manner as possible. Seriously, Lauer had a yearly salary of $25m - and for what? For asking Tom Cruise a few tough questions a decade ago? For being a face retirees (the only people with time in the morning to actually watch such programs) already recognize? Zero interest from me, thanks - but, in order not to further derail the thread, that's all I'll say on the matter. ;)

He got paid that much money because:
    1. Being a good interviewer is actually a skill and not everyone can do it.
    2. Because he, arguably, brought the viewers making it the number one morning show for years and years making NBC lots and lots of money.

From the outside it doesn’t seem like hard work, but it is. And with high pressure. You try doing a live show in front of millions 5 days a week.

I've been surprised at the lack of anything of interest whatsoever from the Apple service. Usually a streaming service can at least conjure up one or two shows that might not convince me to pick up the service but at least pique my curiosity. I guess I'm slightly curious about Snoopy in Space...

I understand why, say, tobacco company executives make gobs of money. Doesn't mean I want to watch a series that depicts them as heroes for doing so.
