What I like with some of these concept ships is that they were actually shown on screen in a random shot somewhere making them actual canon starships. It’s the reason they are on the numbered range.
Anyway I’m just waiting until the STO line starts up. Might cancel my Discovery sub and replace it with this.

Had anybody else had a devil of a time getting the batteries into their Planet Killer? I'm afraid I'm going to break the thing.
A bit off-topic, but:
My biggest wish for the collection would be a standard-sized issue of the XCV-330 ringship!
I really want that. But the current issue is way too big for my taste. Don't matter how they do it - special edition or something - but I want one in that smaller size!

True. Instead we had physical models that in many cases got modified in numerous ways that their original form no longer exists. Certainly more that what files have been lost.
Same here! Was so excited when it was announced, and then it turned out way too big (also considering the lack of detail) :/
Huh... may be the latter. That's disappointing. I thought all the clear parts were made from plastic that's been molded in color rather than painted. I'll probably know soon... in another 2 or 3 months or so...

Have the USS Raging Queen and the USS Elkins ever been mentioned as being under consideration for the collection? It's been some time since the other DS9 kitbash ships were released - the Curry was issue 116, the Yeager issue 122, they since seem to have moved on to Excelsior and TNG concept ships. So I'm getting worried that they won't be made because they weren't visible as clearly as the others. (Actually I doubt that the Elkins was seen on screen at all, but EM's own magazines state that it was, so I think it should be released in the main line as well...)

I suspect that, since the Curry was already made (and nearly identical in most folks' eyes), we won't see a Raging Queen. This is sad, considering we have umpteen Miranda variants now.
As for the Elkins, I would love to see it, but I'm not holding my breath.
I'd also like to see a corrected Bradford, Jupp and Hutzel, but not likely, as none of these have never been mentioned, even in passing, by Ben or any other Eaglemoss employee.

If worse came to worse, all the parts required to kitbash it from existing Eaglemoss models, mostly refit Connies, would be workable.

Thanks for posting those. The line "The wreck of the Tolstoy, meanwhile, was filmed by visual effects supervisor Robert Legato for the battle scene in the Deep Space Nine episode Emissary, but the footage never appeared in the aired episode" was what I was looking for. I once contacted both Legato and Okuda about this, since there was never an original model made for the Tolstoy in BoBWII, so what would Legato have filmed? Okuda told me that no new models were built for the scene, so Legato would have used whatever was available, including some of the original BoBW models. Since he made sure that at least the three ships mentioned by name in BoBW were in the shot (the Tolstoy, Kyushu and Melbourne), then here's what I'm thinking:
Kyushu: the original Kyushu model was still used, since a photo of it docked at the Deep Space Nine model has been seen before.
Melbourne: The Excelsior was relabeled the Melbourne for the shot, but that was for the second battle scene that was eventually shown (showing just the start of the battle.) The first scene (with the ships already engaged in the battle) was never shown. Presumably for this first scene, the Nebula Melbourne model was used, since footage of it still ended up in the second scene. Unless...
Tolstoy: Since there was never an original Tolstoy model, then Legato would have had to label a different ship or extraneous piece of wreckage with the name. But what would it have been? If the Excelsior model was labeled Melbourne, then I wonder if Legato removed the name from the Nebula class model and relabeled it "Tolstoy?" The registry numbers are very similar-looking (62043 and 62095, especially being more obscured after the battle damage). The off-color pics we've seen of the Melbourne post-damage seems to show the name removed but the registry intact:

The only other option would just have been some random wreckage, possibly made either by Greg Jein or parts from AMT model kits, as we've seen turn up at the odd Star Trek auctions. I know that Gary Hutzel saved all the wreckage from the Enterprise-D breakaway models used in “Cause and Effect.” Perhaps the Tolstoy was made from some of those parts?
I don't believe the Elkins was on screen. Believe me, I've looked for it. The one ship I thought it was (in the far background at the beginning of "A Time to Stand" seems to just be another shot of the Curry.

I love the Jupp. It's a pretty credible design, unlike some of the Frankenfleet, and is very reminiscent of the FJ Saladin.
