Since we're on the topic of grocery stores, I hate people who decide they don't want the items they've already picked out and leave it wherever they happen to be. You're costing the store money because unless they see you putting the perishable foods down, they have no idea how long it's been there and have to toss it. And then they have to make up that loss somewhere else.
Also when somebody gets right up to the lane, puts their stuff on the belt, then decides they forgot something and (usually in the middle of the checkout process) runs off to get it, thereby holding up the line.

I've seen worse. Someone gets angry with the check out girl and storms out leaving his stuff on the belt! There is nothing they can do about it not even forbid him to come back.
Why not?
Well, for one thing, it would be complicated to do so with the number of customers they get in a single day. I mean they have these kinds of specialized bouncers in Casinos but the stakes are not the same, plus I am guessing in a Casinos they only check at one entrance and here there are like a dozen of them!! Just imagine how complicated it would be to put physiognomists (face spotters) everywhere. I think it would be much more trouble than he would be worth.

One day I went to use the self-checkout at a store, and every scanner was in use except one.... except that machine had a bunch of groceries sitting there and a pending tab. She had left to get something she forgot.
One day there was an old person who just put her items before mine without asking or even looking at me like it was the most normal thing in the world, of course, I didn't say anything since she was so old. But it would have been nice of her to ask or simply acknowledge that I was there.
Our immediate supervisor has been gone less than a week due to a promotion, and suddenly it's like everyone else in the department has forgotten large parts of what their jobs are. I feel like I've been running behind kindergartners cleaning up their messes. Three of them want her position. I wonder if they honestly think that's how they're going to get it.
which leads to my argh of the day: it's rather hot and humid but we have pleasantly cool nights. Unfortunately, the instant I leave the terrace door open at night, the mice come in.

^depends on the metal. I rather like the taste of iron but am not fond of aluminium.

Have you tried a linnen water bag? The fibers swell when they get wet and so the sack becomes rather watertight. Not 100% but what little seeps though evaporates and cools the content. My family used to use one when we went camping in the 60s

I don't know. Do they pour water from the spring into water bag? That's I mean. When water is stored in plastic I think some of the plastic gets into the water and then end up in your body. That idea makes me sick. That's why I favor glass bottles.
ah, now I see. You were looking for an alternative available at supermarkets. No, I'm afraid there's nothing better than glass bottles to be had there.
Is the tap water in your region so bad that you have to buy the bottled variety? In my area, we are so lucky as to have excellent tap water - no chloride, almost completely chalk-free and very tasty.

Tap water is ok but not excellent, it has a slight aftertaste that I don't particularly like. I mostly use it to make coffee, in which case the aftertaste I guess is completely masked by the taste of the coffee. It's ok to use for cooking also.
I had to take my lawn mower apart yesterday to replace the pull cord. It took awhile because the long spring inside unraveled. I finally got everything back together and working and while I was mowing, the thing died on me. I must have pulled that starter cord a hundred times but it wouldn't start again. Now I have to go buy another mower. So frustrating.
Speaking as a supermarket cashier, I have no problem with pointing out to someone that they have too many items for the express -- but if they choose to come through anyhow, I can't stop them. My bosses won't back me up.
Some people should never be left to work without supervision.
People (especially on Sundays) who act holier than thou fellowshipping with everybody at the table giving their server absolute HELL because their Well Done steaks take more than 15 minutes to cook. Keep in mind, the whole place gets busy all at once, but that doesn't keep them from raising five kinds of hell on their fellow man (in this case, server). Which, in my mind, would go against Jesus' teachings. But, what do I know?
When you get a huge run in your (brand new 
) nylons early in the day (caused by stupid office furniture ) and you have to go through the rest of the day like that, hoping no one notices (but it's so obvious that you know that they do...
