Ive seen this take from fanboys on Twitter. They're furious at Venom viewers.In other words: to anyone who bought a ticket to Venom despite the crap reviews, this is your fault.
Even without Feige as a producer, Spidey and his supporting cast will continue to exist in the MCU unless Disney tries to claim "executive privilege" over Holland, Tomei, and the rest of Homecoming amd Far From Home's primary cast, which I don't think they can legally do.
Barring a reboot (although Sony has no reason to go that route unless legally forced to), you can't separate the current filmic version of Spidey from the MCU even with the dissolution of this partnership; that genie is out of the bottle.
Also, it isn't greedy to be reticent about sharing the profits from a filmic IP that you own the license to outright.

I'm not furious, but a ticket bought is a vote cast with one's own money, so when one goes to see a flick with a Metacritic score of 35, one is casting a vote for more movies with lousy quality control. (On average, that is: critical consenuses as reflected in Metacritic scores aren't always on-point, but, they're more often right than wrong, IMO.)
Like I said in the other two threads, I hope that Holland, Watts, McKenna, and Sommer (assuming the latter two are still involved) are able to maintain the quality and spirit of the first two films without Sony meddling and shitting all over the process. I don't need the connections to the MCU for the future films (especially since the Tony arc has ended naturally and there's no need to see Fury again), but I do want the same quality of story as Homecoming and Far From Home. Hopefully this new report that negotiations are still going on are true and things can be worked out. Fingers crossed.

Well, that's essentially what most of us are saying: We're worried that if Sony takes creative control, the movies won't be good.
We'll have to agree to disagree on that.
Which is a stupid thing to worry about because Sony has already had creative control over the current version of the Spidey franchise from Day 1.
As long as they can keep Tom Holland and the rest of the cast from the first two films, and maintain the same quality as those films, I can do without any MCU connections in the third Spider-Man movie.

Do not worry to much MCU fans. Thanks to the multi-verse their is a Peter Barker out their saving New Yorkie as Spiderboy with the loving support of Aunt Kay, and girlfriend Kerry Jane. Even with a Uncle Gleen and his memorable advice "With great strenght comes great duty" who can hope on over and be used. Jason
Well, for one thing there's a difference between "this is something I have read and believe" and "the truth." Many of your posts confuse the two.
I could say the same thing about a lot of other members' posts.

Because Sony was smart enough to realize they had run things into the ground on their own and now got the keys to billion dollar land handed to them without doing any of the work required.
If they have to come up with the story on their own now that is not a reboot but can’t mention anything MCU, it will be ok, but not great.
They can do Green Goblin and Uncle Ben again, I suppose. We are still lacking the origin story of this Spidey. They can do flashbacks maybe? That would be new.

This should make the next Phase interesting going forward (in a lost potential way), since MCU characters are constantly Easter Egg-ed / referred to in other films.
