Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

some saturday night repairs:

engine kept falling off, so i had to use a dremel to add some posts.

Hi all, quick question about the UK subscription - I've just recently signed up to the standard subscription (my free Ent-D is on it's way, along with the 1701 refit and NX-01, which they offered me both for £10 as I signed up) and was wondering that as I've signed up so many years down the line, will I still get the gifts (DS9, binder etc) as my subscription carries on through the early issues?

I would assume so, although you may be waiting a while. If you're on Facebook, there is a group (HeroCollector Star Trek Fan Group) which may or may not have the answer or ask Eaglemoss directly, I've always found their UK based Customer Service team very good.

Just an aside, I don't think the Deep Space Nine Special was a a sub's thing. I remember picking mine up from WHSmiths back in the say.

Thanks, I've just recently got rid of my Facebook account so can't look at the group unfortunately but I may drop Eaglemoss an email as I'll be looking to purchase a binder if I don't get one as a subscriber gift.

Good to know about DS9 - it seems quite reasonably priced so I may pick it up separately at some point in the future.

If it helps, there's an XL DS9 coming soon, so you might want to skip the old one. I'm thinking of upgrading to the new one if it's a good upgrade, so I'm sure we can sort something out if you want the original release. :)

Thanks for the info. If it's good, I may opt for the XL myself but if not, I'll keep that in mind if you upgrade.

Looking forward to the ISS Charon. Recently got a new shelf from ikea to put the disco line on (pics to follow shortly). I'm on the fence on the DS9 XL. Id love to get it, but I have the regular DS9, a micro machine, the hallmark ornament, and more recently a playmates DS9 I found new in box at a flea market. I'm not sure if I want another DS9, or if I even have room.

I definitely could use another binder for the disco magazines. Issues 1-10 fit nicely in the binder, but issues11 to the festoon are just lumped in a pile. It would be nice to get another binder as a subscriber gift.

Come to think of it, last subscriber gift was the iss shenzhou, and I feel like that was a while back....

Not a big fan of multiverse-ending threats. But the design of that ship is quite unique!

Sidenote: I do think hull aztecing is the wrong choice for a ship this size. Something that supermassive shouldn't have visible hull paneling from afar. But it's screen accurate, that's already a problem of the original CGI model.

I read that it was designed with the idea of it being a hollowed out planet killer from the doomsday machine.
Damn shame it wasn't mentioned onscreen if true.
According to the Designing Ships book, it originally was just going to be a planet killer with the palace attached to the top of it.
The final version of the design is based off the cone design of the Planet Killer, but it isn't meant to be a hollowed one in-universe.

So...the DSC people met a classic Trek reference they didn’t like and pedalled away from before it made it to screen...

But why?
This one would have at least kind of worked.
