Is anyone here good with Android phones?

I just got a new Huawei phone and it's annoying me.

The screen has two styles or skins the default and the regular one which has the app drawer on it.

But for some odd design choice Huawei chose on the default style you can't add icons to the main screen and I'm trying to find a way to do that. So if anyone here has had experience with huawei phones let me know please.

They use a skin on top of android called EMUI

i got a Huawei from one of my sons not long ago,
i dont know about more skins, but i just press and hold an app-icon and slide to the front?
(slide it over the four small dots)
This is probably not what you meant tho..(?)

No, no, I know about the app drawer but they keep that separate as another screen style.

The default screen layout has no app drawer so adding icons seems a mystery.

i don't mean the "drawer", i mean the small dots that indicate pages,
i got four" app-pages" so thats why i said four, you may have more..

after installing an app, it's probably on the last page
find it, press and hold and then drag it left/right over the small dots that are placed horizontal and indicate pages ?

I have a Huawei y6 and I have never noticed an aps drawer.

Swipe left, and there's a bunch of aps.

Swipe right, and there's some aps function lodge that I want no part of.

On day one I was deleting shitty preinstalled apps because I thought that there was an apps drawer somewhere, which was nowhere to be found.

"sigh"

There is .

Go into settings / home screen and wallpaper / home screen style

There are two settings standard and drawer.. Drawer is the traditional Android app drawer.

Mine is a Huawei Y52019

If you have to dig into the guts of the beast, then it's hidden for a reason.

I did find the brightness settings following your directions, which has been thankfully increased.
