Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths to be 5-Part Crossover

https://ew.com/tv/2019/08/04/cress-williams-black-lightning-arrowverse-crisis-on-infinite-earths

Characters from Black Lightning will make an appearance in the network’s forthcoming Arrowverse crossover “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” the network confirmed at the Television Critics Association summer press tour Sunday morning.

Black Lightning has been separate from the Arrowverse shows since it premiered in 2018, so this will be its first crossover with The CW’s other heroes. That being said, it’s worth noting that “Crisis” isn’t expanding to include a full Black Lightning hour. The massive five-hour event will still just include Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and the forthcoming Batwoman.

Furthermore, Kevin Conroy, who famously voiced Batman on Batman: The Animated Series, will also make an appearance as Bruce Wayne from the future. Of course, Conroy previously voiced this role on Batman Beyond, which was set many years in the future and followed an elderly Bruce Wayne as he mentored a new Batman.

In addition to announcing those two castings, The CW also revealed when “Crisis on Infinite Earths” will begin with Supergirl on Sunday, Dec 8; followed by Batwoman on Monday, Dec. 9 and The Flash on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Following the winter hiatus, the crossover will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 14 with Arrow at 8 p.m. and Legends of Tomorrow at 9:00 p.m.

:eek::eek::eek:

Why don't we have a jaw-drop emoji? That would more accurately reflect my reaction to this news.

So now we'll have had both Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy in the Arrowverse -- plus other DCAU veterans like Carl Lumbly (M'yrnn), Clancy Brown (General Eiling), and Phil LaMarr (the voice of Rag Doll, and upcoming as the voice of Malefic).

What's more, while this is the umpteenth reality in which Conroy has played Bruce Wayne, it'll be the first time he's ever done it in live action! Back in the '90s, I thought he would've been quite credible as a live-action Batman if he dyed his hair. Too bad it took until now for it to happen.

Ohh, I hope Conroy's Bruce gets to interact with Burt Ward...

I sorta wish the Conroy thing wasn't confirmed. That woulda been a great surprise.
Ah, well.

Just saw the news on IGN, and I'm pretty shocked, of all the past Batman's to appear, it never occured to me that they would go with Kevin Conroy. His Batman is my favorite, so I'm pretty happy with this. So is this the first time he's ever played the character in live action?

With all these official announcements makes you wonder what they will try to keep secret? There is bound to be some actual surprises in the episodes to air in 2020

They are describing him as older Bruce from the future. I wonder it could be the older Bruce from Earth 1?

You mean the future of Earth-1, like what Arrow's doing in its flashforwards? Because Earth-1 Batman was active up until 3 years ago, so he can't be that old.

I suspect that CoIE will do what its comics namesake did (and what Elseworlds did briefly with Earth-90) and start off by showing vignettes of a bunch of parallel universes battling annihilation and failing. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these guest appearances were brief cameo scenes like that, not connecting directly to each other or to the main cast's storyline.

Which could set up Conroy as a recurring presence on Batwoman. I like it.
That is what I was thinking. Kevin is older than a traditional Batman. But in Batwoman’s mythology he first became Batman years ago. As old as Conroy in real life? Probably not. But that should not be much an issue. A little makeup. He would not be in many or any scenes of Batman in costume. If fight scenes there are always fight scenes. Likely he would just be a mentor to his cousin.

I can't believe Conroy is involved, that's awesome! This is really feeling like its going to be the biggest DC live action crossover ever, and its hard to see how anyone will ever top it.

With Conroy playing Batman and known as the iconic animated voice of him it would be great if we could get a Mark Hamill as the Joker.

Sure he has been Trickster, but Brandon Routh is playing Superman again and Ray Palmer in the Arrowverse.
