how can a film succeed narratively and thematically if it's not a well-made or executed film?
It was well-made and well-executed.... at least from my point of view and the point of view of the countless others who enjoyed it.

You and I must have watched different films then...it is the movie's fault if the story is poorly told and sloppily edited
If that is all that is seen then that is truly missing the point. If all that is taken away is cynicism then the film certainly has failed to convey its message. All that matters is seeing an archetype hero that kids look up standing over his nephew in anger with his sword drawn instead of talking to him .. that's what matters.
like i was saying there are plenty of assholes in movies out there.. if i wanted to watch them i'd watch The Departed. I go to SW for my heroes.. they are not perfect but that's what i go for.. and I think we should have stronger standards for our heroes now more than ever,.. but even in the context of the story.. Luke would not do this.. just don't buy it. at all.. oh and even if i did, i would not find it entertaining.. or challenging.. just a tone deaf writer tuned out the spirit of what STar Wars has been
Tone deaf? I already dealt with that in TPM, and the character shredding of Obi-Wan in the PT. And the Jedi were no heroes in the PT either. Standards for heroes? What garbage.like i was saying there are plenty of assholes in movies out there.. if i wanted to watch them i'd watch The Departed. obviously i was referring to RJ and KK .. but maybe you didn't catch that
He reacted to the Dark Side. Like all Jedi have done in the past. And then hesitated. Almost like that time he tried to kill Vader and then stopped himself. It's so weird..like, people can make the same mistake sometimes in their life.LOL i never said i wanted perfection. But heroes don't go around thinking of killing their sleeping nephews.
sure and Gene Roddenberry came up with Spock's story.. so.. should i imply that he came up with the stuff they wrote in Discovery Season 2.. did he have anything to do with that tripe? Your point is nonsensical
